B&K Precision 1671A Triple Output Digital Display DC Power Supply, 30V, 5A

This thing is heavy as a brick and feels like equipment made to take a beating from younger students. My only complaint is that the knobs are a bit sensitive, so it can take a few tries to park the voltage at an exact desired value. This is not a major problem, though, as the most common DC voltages (5V and 12V) are provided.

So like other reviews the drawback for this is that the not so just very rapidly very coarse but this is just a minor issue. You can dial in on the voltage or current that you're looking for. No reason to get some other cheap junk BK is about the best brand you can get This is great for a hobbyist or student. You're not going to need much else. Probably my favorite features that this is heavy duty It's not like the other stuff coming from the Orient that the slightest bump would put it out of compliance

It's a power supply. 'Nuff said.

So far, a good product that does what I need. Fixed outputs are on spec.

I've had this unit for about two years now. I mainly used it to work on class projects, but now it's great for troubleshooting things around the house. I mostly use the variable output because of the current limiting feature (for safety). It hasn't had any problems so far and I would recommend B+K products for their great value.

I've jest received my B&K Precision 1671A 30v,5A. From a precision power supply I expect to be able to vary the voltage and current in a fine manner, unfortunately the PSU does not have a fine adjustment for the voltage or for the current. The finest control I managed to do was about 0.3V in which large number of low end power supplies can do better than that.Another thing to be aware of is that only one of the triplet outputs is adjustable, the other 2 outputs are fixed; 5V @ 0.5A and [email protected] .From a $218 device I expected a well finished unit, an unpleasant to see is that the current limiting LED was not installed correctly in its place, it was not in its housing, I was able see half of the LED only!To view digits on the LCDs, you need a good light in the room; the blue frame on the front panel adds a shadow that makes it even more uncomfortable to see the readings on the LCD.In conclusion the price of this power supply is way too much; in my opinion this unit shouldn't be more than $150.
