Good angle on sensor picking up movement from side of unit
Purchased 12/2023 Reviewed 2/2024 -- Preliminary observations: I got these to light up the front of my house. I (unfortunately) had someone attempt to break in, yes I called police & they were arrested. So, I needed to improve on the lighting around the house, I was looking for some solar options for locations without a wired outlet, these were what I chose. Right now I actually have them temporarily strapped to some fence posts with zip ties. They are working great & will be securely attached soon. What I like is how they are able to pick up movement, even at the side of them, so they lite up right away. The area in the front of my house, front window, front door & front yard is now lighted so you can safely see to walk - and hopefully scare someone from approaching who is up to no good. They catch even slight movement - I have some fountain grass & when they sway due to wind, yes the lights come on, but I am not bothered by that now that I know why the light is on. They stay on as long as movement is going on & then light up again if movement resumed that was paused. Lately it has been very cloudy during the day, but these lights are still getting charged enough to work. I just feel much better now that I have more light at night to rely on. They blast out a lot of light.

We love them!
Easy to install, very bright and the motion detection is great! We put them in our very dark backyard. 2 of them on trees, one of them on the fence. When all three are lit, it is very bright! The dogs can cause them to go on, which helps me out because I can watch to see of they pee when they go out without having to leave the porch! How's that for lazy? The 4th one we put on the side of the house by the driveway, for added security. It's not particularly dark and we have other motion lights there, but it is nice to have the extra light. I love that they are solar powered, I was a little worried about them getting enough sunlight because we have quite a bit of shade, but it doesn't seem to have any affect at all, they are very bright. Great purchase!Update: 1.19.18We've had these lights now for about a year and a half. I still like them and would buy them again BUT here are a few things we have noticed:During the winter months, they don't receive as much sunlight for natural reasons (sun is lower in the sky, doesn't shine as long) and also because of their placement. Some of them do not turn on at all during the winter, or are so dim they might as well not. But once the sun is high in the sky again, they go back to their same old brightness, so one can only conclude that they just aren't getting enough consistent sunlight to charge up the batteries enough. The ones that do turn on, are bright enough to still see by, but definitely not as bright as during the summer months. SO just be aware that this might happen to you if you don't get much light during the winter months / if they are hanging in places that will not benefit from the available light during the winter months. Out of the 8 total that we have, only 2 have crapped out completely in the 1.5 years we've had them, so I'd say that's pretty good given they weren't expensive. Overall still very pleased. We may buy 4 more for the far side of our house. : )

Durable and long lasting
I purchased my first set in 7.5 years ago, and just recently one of the lights has failed. The rest of the three lights are still working well. I'm back to buy another set. Super easy to install. Mine are installed in a Mediterranean type climate, if that matters...

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
June 2016I was very skeptical about buying these. I searched and searched and after reading probably about every review on motion solar lights I decided on these particular ones.My main reason for buying these was because my back door has no lighting and that is the main door that I use to get in and out of the house. It has always been an issue but I didn't want to pay to get a light wired in so I just dealt with it. After numerous weirdos and creeps walking thru our yard (we live off a main street) I have had enough. I had to do something. Plus, when my dogs are outside I like to check on the from the upstairs window. That's pretty hard to do when it's pitch black out there. I put 2 lights inside the fence, 1 by the back door, and 1 by the garage. They have really made a huge difference. When I pull in the driveway it sets off the light so I can see getting out and going up to the door to struggle with the keys.! I absolutely love it. I feel much safer and happier about being outside when it's dark now. When people walk by it sets off the light which I honestly think has deterred some of the foot traffic. And when my dogs are outside, I CAN ACTUALLY SEE THEM. It's great. The sensor works pretty good and it always gets set off when the dogs walk by. I couldn't have expected anything more. They come in a 4 pack. They are honestly, suprisingly bright and powerful for their size. I was upset when I opened the package but happy once I installed them.First thing when you get them make sure that you use the pin to click them on. If I remember right you can feel the little click. I set mine on the back window of one of the cars for a whole day to let them charge up. Installation is a breeze. Just screw them in. I did put 2 of these up where there is direct sunlight and I put 2 up where there is indirect sunlight. They both work the same and I'm loving them.Once you get these you'll find a bunch of reasons to buy more and find all kinds of places to put them. I will definitely be buying more of these and I will be telling all my friends to try them too.UPDATEApril 2017These lights still work, sometimes.. the ones that go off more (like I said before I live on a busy street) are not as bright and sometimes they don't go off at all. I think it just all depends on the traffic (how often they go off) and how charged they are. I would buy these again but I'm changing my review from 5 to 4 stars.
