Preaching to the Perverted

I appreciated that this film was an exploration of conflicting values and is thought-provoking. It chooses not go too deep though and doesn’t take itself to seriously, which amounts to a fun and entertaining movie. The subject matter is clearly not for the faint of heart, but it never gets too graphic, opting for a more accessible, light, sometimes silly but sexy depiction of the underground sex scene. Perhaps it was edgy and challenging for it’s time, but for today, it serves predominantly as enjoyable entertainment.

I've started to dig through some releases from a few years back while I've been stuck indoors during shelter in place. Recently I came across Preaching to the Perverted, which caught my attention. It's a fun premise: a young man is asked to infiltrate the London S&M scene to gather evidence against them to try to get them shut down, but then of course he falls for the head dominatrix. The film definitely skewers the conservatives and prudes, has some provocative scenes, and provides some laughs too. Apparently the film was the last one to be banned in the 20th century -- crazy! If you can handle this kind of subject matter, Preaching to the Perverted is definitely worth a watch.

A fun little morality tale, lampooning the pious hypocrites. but also, perhaps, celebrating the 'outsiders' they target.In so many ways it is a very conventional film. The story arc is classic and conventional.And in just as many ways, it is extremely unconventional, as it unblinkingly - and non-judgementally - looks at subject matter that is quite outside the conventional.Still, to me, it seemed a standard relationship story set in a very (very!) unconventional venue.Glad I watched it. Still, my life wouldn't have been any paler, had I not stumbled across this.All in all, I'm glad everyone took the time and effort to tell this tale, It celebrates both the universal human traits and the intriguing and compelling human differences. Yet in its own way and under all the extreme kink, it's a charmingly conventional love story.At least, that's how I saw it.

For those whom would really like to know just how deep and interesting the real world of BD/SM can and does go when you get outside of the public realms and into the darker, more serious aspects of the world, this is a great movie to help those not understanding of it, honestly see and understand more. I enjoy how they set up showing how someone not into the world stands out so clearly for those inside that world, and yet show how that very same world can end up changing you instead. I love this movie and have for many years since it came out and I saw it for the first time.

Well done script and cinematography.The all-important consent before any BDSM scene or action is properly stressed in this movie just as it is in real life.The lead actress is unusually attractive...and she plays her role to perfection. Those who have not seen a woman older than twenty present herself in this way are frankly missing out on the 8th wonder of this world.In BDSM after the age of consent is reached in many cases age loses all of it's meaning. This is seen in this movie as many scenes have mixed ages and they are getting along just fine. Each person does as they wish...just so the consent of any other person is not violated. This is as it should be...but often is not...in the real world. Tolerance matters! In this movie -in the end - tolerance wins!Finally, this movie is FUN to watch! Just as is real life BDSM.Enjoy!

UK morality laws are somewhat more backwards than ours, although the "new" Feudalism state-side, is more and more willing to reunite some form of fundamentalist christianity with the State. In the UK, the Church and State continue to be enmeshed, though to what degree, I have not researched. Be that as it may, this is a morality play about the ills of doing just that; adn combining Church and State is, by definition, anti-democratic. At any rate, a fun flic, good dialog, good sets, acting, photography and also some very hot girls and boys.

Preaching To The Perverted is a great film that both shows and explains the BDSM life style. The film fleshes out the two main character's fears, wants, and desires. All these characteristics with our Charecters leads to hilarity.The director creates an erotic spectacle that is the kink equivalent of "Now Yoy See Me" meets a Marilyn Manson concert!!

Pushing the boundaries of comfortable, not for the faint of heart or strict old fashioned types. This artsy film explores some underbelly places of sex S&M and what if tables get turned in unexpected ways Guinevere Turner nails her role!

A fun, 'adult' film, with good humour, intelligence and taking you behind the 'dark side', with sexual scenes you would have neverbelieved in, really shows you how to be 'dominated' and how 'good' turns itself around'.

This is a great film with a rare combination of wit, kink, base humour, and politics. While some of the technology looks old now, the underlying story is still relevant today, maybe more so as we keep seeing hypocritical politicians wanting to monitor and control the public "for their own good".If you have a collection, or are buying a single risqué DVD, this is the one you simply HAVE to get.

Truly wonderful film. Moral outrage, Christianity, consenting adults, laughs, great cast and tremendous script. Don't knock it till you've tried but. A young man goes undercover to reveal 'deviancy' amongst some enlightened souls. He gets drawn into a world he had little understanding of. You'll have to buy it and watch it to see what happens.

Very pleased with product! Love this film and was glad to see it finally on DVD after wearing out my ex-rental vhs copy lol Dvd came well packaged and also contained 2 x Preaching to the Perverted postcards : ) Highly recommend!
