many pins bend instead of penetrating the cardboard. also many pins were glued or painted together at the round top.

Could be sharper and there’s a plastic coating on them which can burn when ironing

They snag on the fabric because they aren't sharp and the pins have lots of barbs of them. A lot of the pinheads also are stuck together.
