The charger is used over seas. If you use this through a wall charger over the USB plug, you will need to buy a USA wall plug charger for 5.00. No big deal. I wanted to give this a try even though I saw a not so good review.I am an extra class licensed HAM operator. I have a decent background on radio waves.The sound quality is not there. It works, you will have a tough time hearing much. Especially if you have a noisy background.My intention was to use this to talk to kids while I was making Santa appearances. Transmit was decent..........receive leaves a lot to be desired.

Not the best. Can't hear anything. The botton for the talk is loud!!! Pretty much a waste of time.
