This was very well acted - particular by Sudeikis and Pace - and, from what I can remember, an accurate account of the rise and tragic fall of an innovative and visionary engineer who, sadly, took a lot of risks to save his company but had a lot of bad luck.The DMC was an iconic car (although, highly unreliable mechanically - apart from in Back to the Future). Its stainless steel body was a novel idea although, had Delorean been successful, might have been the cause of its own failure - the body would never rust.I would recommend this film. It was well acted.

Reminded me of American Hustle - a really fun watch.

This is an unusual film, born of a true story but how close it mirrors the reality I'm not sure. Fantastic acting performances from all the main characters but in particular Jason Sudeikis as FBI informant Jim Hoffman and Lee Pace as DeLorean. Great on period style and genuinely funny while never detracting from the central drama. Big shout for director Nick Hamm who handles everything consummately. Hamm is originally a Belfast boy and presumably the location of the DeLorean factory made an impact on him during his childhood.Essentially, DeLorean was undone by his own ego. His success as a designer for the big US car companies led him to believe he could do it all on his own. He did get very close to establishing a successful sports car manufacturer but could not quite generate the capital necessary to properly establish the company or produce the superlative product he really needed. It became one compromise after another which led to teething problems such as talk show host Johnny Carson getting trapped in his car when the gull-wing doors failed to open.So in this sense the whole DeLorean episode is something of a tragedy. He wasn't really a criminal, just a desperate man trying to save his company. He wasn't the first and won't be the last in this position. Perhaps you have to have been in this situation to understand - I have and I do. It's a great watch and well worth the rental fee.

Expected more after watching the trailer but was left somewhat disappointed. It sort of ambled along and I was thinking any minute now something will happen, unfortunately it didn't. To be fair it did show the issues over the DeLorean production issues which not unusually stemmed from funding. Nevertheless some may like it because after all it is only my opinion, but certainly for me it was a bit of a let down.

Based on the true story, and what a story it is! The Delorian was a big deal and the major portion of this was true! Fascinating! I grew up in Michigan and my Dad was high up in the ranks in GM. I recall all the hub bub at the time. This is a fascinating tale and most of this is true. This is a MUST OWN!!!
