Pain, Perplexity, and Promotion: A Prophetic Interpretation of the Book of Job

Excellent study of how G-d uses human suffering to help us grow
This book helped me understand how pain and suffering can help us grow more closely into the image and likeness of Messiah. Pain and suffering are common to all mankind, a result of living in a fallen world. But our response to that pain can form us into vessels for noble use, just as G-d used Job's suffering to change him from someone who knew about G-d into someone who knew G-d and understood His desire for relationship with his greatest creation--mankind. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has suffered, whether it be physically, emotionally, or spiritually.

excellent life changer
This book is AMAZING and anointed. It really helped me understand my struggles and not feel alone. I have always loved the book of Job.Bob Sorge knows what he is talking about b/c he has lived a life of affliction.

Beautifully written and a thoroughly examination of the book of Job.
It's a detailed study of the book of Job and a must read for the end time harvest of souls. Sorge is eloquent as usual, descriptive beyond words and researches his theories and thoughts until they're indisputable. His book confirms my thoughts and experiences to a "T". A must read for Christians who need to know more depth of their walk with the Lord.

This can't be read like any other book
This can't be read like any other book. This must be prayed over and really taken in. Very timely for my life. Anyone who's just confused about why they can't get traction in their life, or why everything seems to work against them. I wasn't innocent in my troubles as Job was, but God was still desiring to promote me.

I appreciate his candor!
Great way to frame challenges we experience during these turbulent times. I was encouraged that the private pains can be used for God’s glory and eternal gains if we trust His plan.

The insight about pain and suffering and God's spiritual growth for us is spot on.
It seems Bob is writing two books in one that's why only a four star. The first 2/3 of book was so connected with spiritual trial and inheritance etc... Then book started a new talk on being God's bride. I found the last 1/3 a new book??

Vintage Sorge
Bob Sorge is not Prof Clines. That is say: if you want an academic commentary on Job then Prof Clines is seriously good. However Bob Sorge does reach for the heart and journey of Job. Most chapters challenge the reader and so it is worth reflecting chapter by chapter. There was a chapter that I disagreed with as stretching beyond what scripture actually said; however, even with that it is the best book on Job (short of a serious commentary). Frankly spiritual books and sermons should be engaged with rather than just swallowed.

Fat Albert
This book is both provocative - it challenges long held understandings about the book of Job, and revelatory - it opens a door to a completely different vision of how the Lord operates in His love toward us! Bob shows how all things, even those which seem desperately bad, work for good for those who love God.

but only for those serious about seeking to know God better. Some very sobering lessons written by an author ...
Challenging and thought provoking... but only for those serious about seeking to know God better. Some very sobering lessons written by an author who has known pain in his own life.
