I devoured this book. I read it in one sitting, then started it again later that same day. Michelle Nelson-Schmidt has a talent for connecting with readers of all ages. She uses simple language but weaves complicated ideas into the story in a way that any one can understand and appreciate. And the themes of self-acceptance, finding your purpose, believing in yourself—they take this great story and turn it into a beautiful one.Cordelia and the Whale will rest on my shelf with other timeless classics by authors such as E.L. Konigsburg, Madeleine L’Engel, Peter S. Beagle... until I take it down to read again (and again, and again).

I was looking for book(s) with my granddaughters name in them, Cordelia. What a find. Heart warming story with a lesson. I bought her a Blue Whale to go with the book for an added surprise. I would recommend this book even if you don't have the name of Cordelia. *She reads at a forth grade level.

Wow. I was mot expecting all the emotions i would feel reading this book. I laughed, cried, smiled and felt with the characters. Cordelia and The Whale made my heart swell with pride and melt with sorrow. Its been a long time since a book has touched me so deeply. Mrs. Michelle, this is absolutely with out a doubt my new favorite book. And when im having some doubts about myself i know i can turn and Cordelia will be there for me like Beatrice was for her. Thank you so much for writing her story and sharing it with us. 💙

Cordelia is our favorite Usborne Books & More book so we had to get this one as well. So far we are loving it!

I pre-ordered this book, and yes, we have been a fan of Michelle’s for a while. I am also in my 40’s, and decided to read this first.....I finished it in 2 nights. The story is wonderful, there is suspense and I couldn’t put the book down (I had to force myself to sleep). It is beautifully written, and will capture your attention. I’m waiting for book 2!!
