So much that I don't get.
Fantastic monitor for picture quality, record & software options... it's a powerful unit for sure... but there's a lot I dislike. unlike SoundDevices units (highly recco the PixE5), it does not work out of the box, does not have battery mount options (unless you pay $350+ for a back, and having the in/out's on the bottom baffles me as the cables are in the way if mounted onboard. And the mounting points are both on the rear vs the top/bottom, meaning you HAVE to buy a cage or else it just slips constantly on a ball mount or arm.This monitor is in a class of it's own... both in great ways and not.

I love the 7Q+
I love the 7Q+, it does everything I need and more. It would be amazing if the software for running 4k came native to the monitor instead of being glorified DLC for $1000

Probably the best Monitor/Recorder.
This is a powerful recorder and an amazing monitor. The software upgrade CD has done only make this unit better. I looked at the other recorder/monitors and they were not are robust or as professional made. I use mine to record 4k RAW footage to ProRes and it has worked great every time without a hitch.
