Sergio Oliva the Myth

Nice Photos
Sergio Oliva book had pretty good photos though all were in black and white. His biography was not very detailed but was still interesting. Overall, is a nice book if you like old time bodybuilding books but could have been better including containing several typos and grammatical errors. Also, should have been perhaps half the price it sold for.

SERGIO !!! Tada dada dada dah!
Undoubtably one of the greatest ever in the pantheon of professional bodybuilding, more importantly that he rose and emerged in its golden age I still hold him to be a close number 2 to the Austrian Oak. This book however, articulates a viewpoint i have never seen before, of one of the greats. It is an inspiration to all who believe in perspiration and inspiration, and looking at the pictures and hearing his story will certainly inspire many future champions. in this era they may have no choice but to experiment with anabolics. I only wish it was longer, had fewer typos (this is the age of spellcheck is it not), and had color pictures. He also goes beyond his area of expertise numerous times (he talks of rheumatoid arthritis which is often an inherited medical condition and not osteoarthritis, that plagues all athletes in all sports as well as those who labor and toil and abuse their bodies.) I wish he had gone into more detail of his injuries (claimed not to have been incurred during training) as we rarely get insight into this aspect of athletic realty. Matt Damon in "Invictus" says in so many words...we never play at 100% we always hurt in some way. It would have been instructional to go over these injuries and operations, even if sustained separate from training in such a champion. Both he and Arnold can say "I thank whatever gods may be / For my unconquerable soul. / I am the master of my fate / I am the captain of my soul. "

A RARE GLIMPSE OF GREATNESS, TOLD BY THE MAN WHO WALKED THE WALK!!
the book answered many questions on how he was ignored and feared by Weider. he passed away on november 20th. He may have been the most genetically gifted bodybuilder of all time. the condition he achieved and displayed at the 1972 mr olympia was unreal..( which he lost???, he could have arrived on a bolt of lighting and still would have lost! ) the man was 30 years ahead of the times..Rest in peace Sergio, you will always be the MYTH!!

At Last: the ONE we've been waiting for!!!!
The Greatest Bodybuilder that ever lived has at last produced his account of his life, exploits, training philisophy and techniques. And the best part is.....its well worth the price, the wait and the read. Chapters on diet, weight training, youth training, training on the road, areobics and women's training offer valuable information and insight for the aspiring trainer. The section on drug use in the sport is more honest and forthcomming than that found in the vast majority of bodybuilding publications. The many rare photographs of this icon in action are also a welcome addition to any fan's collection. This inspirational work is heartily recommended to all interested in physical culture.

book was produced on a xerox machine. Really?
the book is about 75 pages of bio and the rest of info could be found in any bodybuilding book. the pictures are even xeroxed. black and white. i guess it was put together fairly quickly. rushed home to get it off of doorstep. wish someone would have stolen it. im gonna take some pics and regurgitate the same training techniques and take it all to kinkos. seems you can sell anything on amazon. $5. how bout that?
