Good quality clippers but replace when they stop cutting cleanly
I bought these clippers after I realized my old ones no longer cut nails cleanly (dull). The old ones were basic metal and small and uncomfortable to use for me. The clipping portion is about the same size as my old pair but these are definitely sharper. The rubber grip near the holes make it more comfortable to hold them. It may also just be the bigger holes which is probably better for guys. But the larger grips helps with the weird ways you have to sometimes hold the clippers while you situate your cat (and you can't put them down in the process or you will lose the moment of opportunity). I known that sounds silly....but it is true. I haven't had these long enough to know how long they will stay sharp but will post if they get dull quicker than a cheap pair should.Update Dec 2017: I've owned these for a year. I downgraded my star rating to 4 from 5. They are still functional but are hard to open/close now and have gotten dull. I really didn't use this very often since I found a better pair so either they were always dull and I didn't realize what a "clean" nail trim looked like or they've just gotten old. I'm currently using this again more regularly for a kitten and have found it does not clip as cleanly as the other pair. However, the size of this is better for the kitten. I guess for what I paid I shouldn't expect them to stay sharp super forever but I do expect them to continue opening and closing easily. If I had arthritis in my hands I wouldn't be able to use them at all right now.

The perfect clipper for ferrets!
Got these to trim my ferrets nails. Needed something that cut cleanly, quickly and that wouldn't crush or splinter the nails. These do everything I needed and hoped for.Ferrets need nail trimmings often and they are squirmy and not easy to trim so you need something that works good every time. I just dab a bit of Ferretone (yes I know this stuff is bad for them, they only get a little for their trimmings every couple weeks) on their bellies and while their distracted licking it off, I can now actually get all four paws done in one session whereas before would only be able to get one or two done at a time. I no longer have to sneak on them while they are sleeping. I dislike scruffing my ferrets if I don't have to as it makes them harder to form a real bond with you. This has made nail trimming a better and happier experience for both myself and my ferrets Leeloo and Korben. Highly recommended!

Easy to use for small dog
I used the scissors/clippers today . I was honestly very afraid to cut my dog's nails as i never did it before. What helped was other reviews saying no dog has died from a bleeding nail, so i figured i gotta try it. This nail clipper is super light and easy to use. Its small as well not bulky so perfect for my small dog who is 15 lbs. Its perfect for any dogs up to maximum 25 lbs i would say and if u want to play it safe 20 lbs.Im am very happy i ordered it and im happy its so easy to use and even i can do it.I would definitely recommend this item and i would definitely buy it again. As far as longevity we shall see. However for the price i paid versus $10-$15 everytime i have to get a professional to cut my dog's nails it will be worth it for sure even if i have to buy one yearl.

Great Sharp Set of Clippers
I purchased these for my little dog, but they're so sharp I use them on my German Shepherd. These are significantly sharper than the larger blue handle Amazon's choice and Millers Forge clippers, both of which make my dog uncomfortable as they require so much force to cut. In addition, it's much easier to make precise cuts with these since you can position them right where you want. I can't say if these are the best/sharpest set out there, but they're definitely a solid choice. Also, if anyone's looking for a dremel tool, there's a $20 WEN that I've been using for years that's awesome. It's really big, but it comes with an extension that makes getting around the nails easier.

Product as advertised.
Our old trimmers were starting to crack and split the cats nails, so I searched Amazon for a replacement pair.I decided on this pair, and my wife is extremely pleased with them. They are much smaller and lighter than our old pair. We got through our 3 cats in record time, and minimal fuss. She is happy that we used the bulkier pair at first, it had a 'nail stopper' so you wouldn't cut the quik, but now is skilled enough to trim w/o hitting the quik.

Great clippers ;)
First-time claw clipper here. Took a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once I did they were really easy to use, were sharp, and did the job well. I heard from a couple people that they just used human clippers, but my experience (when I tried it myself) was that they do exactly what people say they do (cause claws to split). I recommend every pet owner that clips claws themselves to get pet clippers. No threat of split claws, easier and faster to use.

Excellent small dog nail clipper
When I found this scissor shaped small dog nail clipper, I knew it was the one for me. This is the first time I was able to cut my dog's nails without a lot of pull and tug from her. This clipper fits well in my hand and it's easy to hold - doesn't slide around. I was actually able to cut her nails quickly. It makes no sound, and doesn't squeeze the nail before cutting. When the time comes, I will buy this again.

Works well for critters
Does the job for our kitten/cats and bunny. Used to use human nail clippers but that squeezed their nails and split them so this is a better choice. A bit small for my husband to handle but otherwise does the job. :) Hope this was helpful to someone!
