Ernie Ball 5-String Regular Slinky Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, 45-130 Gauge (P02836)

These give a nice blend of punch, growl, warmth, and brightness for all-purpose playing. I have super-slinkies on my 4-string for a more aggressive tone, but this is a nice middle-of-the-road string. They're easy to play, not so thick as to prevent you from shredding (I have super-thick flatwounds on my fretless and it's impossible to shred with those). They go bad more quickly than Elixers or other coated strings, but I prefer the brighter tone of these.

Love Ernie Ball strings. They sound great on any bass I use them on. They are my go to string for sure. 👍

I had stock flatwound bass strings before. But when I installed these, I had the best experience of my life. It is easy to handle and it has the right amount of thickness. The metal used feels and looks high quality. I had it for a short amount time but it still looks brand new so it's great in terms of durability. The 130 string length I had to cut to properly adjust to my bass size but it fitted my bass pretty well. This is the best functioning strings I've ever bought.

Great sounding strings!

These strings in regular slinky, last far better than super, on my EB stringray I've been impressed with the tone months after insall still have Bing. Not sure if they have changed the recipe or what. Worth the money...

Everything is playable, and the highest 4 strings sound great. The 5th string (my B string) sounded incredibly dead right out of the package. I looked up if there was an issue with how I installed the strings. I found a forum post talking about taking the string out of the saddle, letting it untwist if there was an unwanted twist, then putting it back in. This did not help, so I am relatively confident that there is just something with the deepest string being either defective or bad. 4 out of 5 stars because 4 of the 5 strings sound great.

Well, I've been using these strings for a long time, even before I owned an EBMM bass. They seem to last a pretty decent amount of time. They don't have the SS highs and quick roll off - more of an even tone throughout most of their life. Simply give them a wipe down at the end of practice/gig and you're good to go. I always keep an eye out for when these are on sale, and a lot of times you can find them under 15 a set, if you're patient. I used these on: USA Fender Jazz V USA EBMM Bongo 5 HH and HS USA EBMM Sterling 5 HH USA EBMM Sterling 5 H I also have used the 4 string version of this set on P and P/J basses. Everywhere, they shine very well. I even like these more than the new "cobalts". The overall balance of these, at least on my basses, is pretty OK. At times, when I down tune, I wish the B was a tad heavier. At standard tuning though these are perfect for me. I play with a pick and finger style. No slap. Very response and smooth strings.

They worked better then the original ones

They're Ernie Ball strings: definitely high quality that work well for many, many players, but what works for one may not work for another. I'd recommend trying some to see if they suit your fingers and ears; if they don't you can move on and try something different, but if they do... YOU'VE FOUND IT!!!

Sono un set “classico” pensato per chi cerca affidabilità, feel familiare e un suono bilanciato senza estremi. Si collocano nella fascia di corde versatili: abbastanza brillanti da uscire nel mix, ma con una componente di medio-basse piena che resta presente anche quando le si suona con più forza.​ Tensione media: non durissime, ma neanche “spaghetti”; adatte sia a fingerstyle che a plettro, senza stancare troppo la mano destra. Il rivestimento in nickel le rende scorrevoli sotto le dita, con meno rumorini di scorrimento rispetto all’acciaio più grezzo. Attacco definito, con una brillantezza iniziale che poi si assesta su un timbro più caldo e rotondo dopo qualche ora di utilizzo. Buona presenza sulle medie, quindi il basso resta riconoscibile e leggibile anche in mix più affollati (rock, pop, funk, worship, ecc.). Non sono corde “eterne”, ma hanno una durata più che onesta per l’uso regolare: perdono un po’ di brillantezza col tempo, mantenendo però un suono ancora utilizzabile e musicale. Non essendo trattate/coated, chi ha sudore molto acido potrebbe notare un decadimento più rapido, ma restano comunque affidabili per diverse settimane di utilizzo normale. Ottime se cerchi un set standard, facile da trovare, dal comportamento prevedibile e con un rapporto qualità/prezzo corretto. Meno indicate se vuoi un un suono molto vintage e scurissimo tipo flatwound. ​

Lo que uno espera al comprar Ernie Ball, gran calidad a buen precio.
