Great Bar for My Wife
The Good: This bar is perfect for my wife to do Olympic lifting. Often times, the standard 45lb bar is too heavy for advanced movements such as the snatch or the overhead squat. This bar is light enough that she is able to do these lifts and still have the option to add some weight. The bar is made solidly and I have seen no indications of cheap manufacture. The Bad: The bar is not your standard length, nor do you have the same amount of room on the ends to put on weights. I don't find this that problematic, however, since the point of the bar is to do light lifting and you wouldn't want to put too much on it anyway.

Excellent Technique/Training Bar
This is a pretty solid training/technique bar. For those of you that are unfamiliar, this is not a power bar. This is simply for training proper form and technique, not for strength training. It only has a 150lb capacity... and if you pile more on there, you WILL damage the bar.The bar is shorter than a standard olympic bar, but the space between the sleeves is the same. The bar itself is a standard 28mm bar, with 52" between sleeves. There is no center knurling, which is also standard for an olympic technique bar.The knurling is a bit aggressive. It hasn't worn down with time, but we take pretty good care of all our equipment. It has good build quality, and has a very clean fit and finish. It is not shiny chrome, but a dull brushed aluminum finish. The sleeves are chromed steel and ridged, but the ridges are somewhat fat and deep. These are very coarse (finished nicely, polished and rounded off... don't worry, they won't scar up your equipment or anything), but it's just a little odd. There are blue rubber end caps with the Cap logo on them covering the ends of sleeves... which will pop off the first time you unload the bar while it's sitting on the ground. They're a good idea in theory, so you don't cause any damage to your gear or floor while you're moving the bar around... they just don't last very long, or stay on very well in actual practice.Overall, this is an excellent choice for a training bar.

Love this bar for warm ups and for mobility work
Was exactly what I was looking for. I have an aluminum bar but it is about 2" shorter than my standard oly bar which means for overhead squats and snatch work my grip was too tight to the collars. This was exactly what I needed. My mobility isn't the greatest so this is a great warm up. Nice thing the knurling isn't as aggressive as my other aluminum bar either, very nice.

Bought for my husband, This allows usage of an Olympic bench and Olympic (2") weights wile only consuming 6' in length in an otherwise very crowded tight-space home gym. It works perfectly with "Gold's Gym XRS 20 Olympic Bench" (http://www.amazon.com/Golds-Gym-XRS-Olympic-Bench/dp/B009PA1KJG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417731453&sr=8-1&keywords=Gold%27s+olympic+bench) and although limited to a max of 150 lbs load plus 15 lbs (for the bar itself) - it is more than enough for upper body exercises at this stage. Consider for example a shoulder (Military) press, the normal Olympic bar is almost 50 lbs bare, too much for a beginner to start with, but 15 lbs is manageable and you could always add weights.

Great lightweight olympic bar
This bar arrived the next day from this seller (I chose the free two day prime shipping). In between the collars is same as regular size olympic bar so you can practice your snatch grip where it should be. Bearings spin freely. Bar weighed 17lbs on my scales and can be used on all lifts up to 150lbs. Great bar for starting out on overhead squats and the snatch.

Like other reviews
Like other reviews, I bought this aluminum training bar for my wife and she loves it. It's being used on a typical squat rack and it fits with no issues. The bar looks and feels solid and well machined. The knurling on the bar has a tighter patern compared to regular iron barbell so it has some grip to it. There is no knurling at the center of the bar with enough space so you won't rip into clothes or skin when bringing the bar up to your body.

Perfect for getting back in shape
I used to be an athlete and have really let things fall by the wayside in terms of my fitness. This bar has been a nice transition piece to help me get back into lifting and start doing some of the major lifts again. It makes me feel a lot more motivated and stronger to be doing sets with a bar rather than my dinky dumbbells.
