My Dometic RM5385 campervan fridge refused to switch off and went into continual 'beeping mode'. Faced with the inconvenience and expense of getting it to (and leaving it with) my nearest authorised repairer over 50 miles away I searched Google for help. I soon found an Amazon customer with exactly the same problem as mine had fixed it themselves with this spare part. They kindly replied to my 'customer question' to explain how to remove the panel (which has no visible screws or fixings) & this gave me the confidence to try a D.I.Y. repair.I am so grateful to them because it really is a simple task - just release the plastic latch that holds the panel in place (you'll see how the plastic latches work when you get the new part), unplug the connection cable and the sensor plug from the old unit, re-plug them into the new unit and then simply push the panel back into place. It really couldn't be easier.

A lot cheaper than buying from Dometic.Good value, just an easy, un plug only manual unit and connect to same connections on new unit and add one extra wire to you engine connection in fuse box

Tried for 4 weeks to get part for my 4801 , contacted DOMETIC direct who referred me to their 2 main dealers in UK neither had one or would even put me on a waiting list £249 !! Found a spares site that advertised as £189 but they have not got one either . Also found a seller on EBay who wanted £299. Saw previous comments and took a chance , easy to swap over and indeed works perfectly. A great result . Interestgly one supplier told me they had 100 on a waiting list - must be a problem part for DOMETIC

Very happy with this. I took a risk in purchasing as I didn’t know for sure that the old controller was broken (but had eliminated all other faults that I could think of). After removing the fridge from its built-in position to get at the back easily, it was reasonably easy to fit. The fridge is a RMS8401 but this controller upgrades it to an RMS8405. It was cheaper than any specific 8401 controller that I could find.

This fitted my fridge perfectly and rectified an issue with the original panel in that it wouldn’t switch off!! Also gave the fridge an upgrade at the same time as it added the auto select of power source feature.Cheapest anywhere for this part! Well done. Sellers communications are also brilliant

Die Platine ausgetauscht, die beiden Kabel von der alten Platine gelöst und an der neuen wieder eingesteckt. Kühlschrank funktioniert wieder einwandfrei.Wohnmobilwerkstatt wollte über 2.000 € für neuen Kühlschrank, jetzt sind es gerade 185 € und 15 Minuten Arbeit.
