Works for MacBook Pro M1 Series
This worked connecting to my MacBook Pro M1. From Finder you have to enable CD/DVD drives by checking the box. The external drive only shows up once you insert a CD/DVD into it.

Stopped working after about 3 hours of use.
The CD player stopped working after about 3 hours of working. Within 1 week of purchasing the item. The drive was extremely loud when disc was spinning. Then just stopped and froze my laptop. I have a brand new MacBook Air. So I know it’s not the laptop. Both drives on my laptop work with charging cords. The CD player even froze my computer when it stopped working. I would stop the use, unplug, plug back into the laptop and restart. It would work for about 20 mins then the voices from what was playing in the disc stopped as the counter was still moving as if everything was fine. Then freezes. Super disappointed in this product. I was very excited when I purchased it. It is more expensive then other similar products so I thought the added money would take away any issues. I was sadly wrong. Now my project is delayed and I have to buy a new one. Don’t buy from overseas. Even worse, there is no Oulin company website for me to ask for help and troubleshoot.

Makes up for lack of drive on the laptop
This works very well and fits the usb port on my MacBook Air. Obviously portable. I only use it to read discs, so I don't know about storage capacity. And it's pretty.

Absolutely love this! Got it to watch movies on our laptop Mac when we can't watch the TV, it works perfectly and has been exactly what we needed.

Not impressed
Doesn't work over half the time if i put in an audio cd it shuts down and i have to go through unplugging it plug it back in . Ive only tried to use it less than 20 times

External CD Drive
Bought a new computer which unfortunately no longer come with CD drives. Since I have tons of data backups on cd and also lots of movies; I had to buy a player. So far it is great. Love how it works from a program loaded onto your computer. Love how the drive looks no buttons or switches. Very streamlined.

Cheap at Best
It did not work for me at all. I connected it to many device including a laptop and my iMac. I could not detect that it worked at all. Be careful. Mine did not work.
