EWA Eco-Wood Art has three "walking" puzzles among the 3-D toys that can be assembled from their kits. Their "turtle" was wonderful and good for a daily laugh as it traveled -- turtle-like -- across a smooth floor. Their triceratops is also wonderful (once it has been fine tuned). In the case of the triceratops, there are small finishing pieces across the shoulders that bind and prevent the toy from walking. It was necessary to grind off about 1/8 inch of material on the back end of the piece in question. (The turtle did not have this problem. Knowing of its existence, the EWA Eco-Wood Art Puppy puzzle will be the next project since it uses a similar design to walk.)

Fun. Must follow step-by-step instructions.

Fun to assemble...well written directions...little or no delamination or breakout of the parts.AND!! It trots around like its alive!!

2/17/21 - I like to correct my previous comment of "no support". Today, I received in the mail replacement parts of the ones that broke during assembly. I was pleasant surprised. I had received no communication to expect this shipment all the way from Belarus! Error in instruction. On Page 28 top part, there is a part not numbered. It should be 80. A part shown as 80 is wrong. It should be 90. Warning, the surface of the cam lobes, part 33, need to be as smooth as possible. They should be sanded to eliminate any toothpick protrusion and waxed. But no such instruction and I learned the hard way. It was challenging for me to figure out how the leg parts go together. Pictures of completed sub-assemblies would be helpful. The final insult was one part of a bar that holds one end of the rubber bands bent under pressure. I threaded a leg of a paper clip though the bands to relieve pressure.

The look is adorable, the instructions generally good, but the way it all joins together is to deliberately make the holes, particularly the round holes, too small ( particularly for all joints using dowels or toothpicks) to keep the fit very snug which I found meant that each of the round holes needed to be filed slightly bigger. Very very tedious to do. With some pieces being very small this required very delicate work. A Dremel drill, needle nose pliers and file or awl are needed in addition to the tools the kit lists.

this is a VERY difficult one to do. More frustration than fun IMO.

I've done a lot of these "puzzles" (not sure why they call them that, they are more like mechanical models) from several different companies and this was one of my favorites. It works really well. The movement and articulation is pretty impressive. Good job EWA! I will probably buy more of your products.Oh! And the seller wa top notch. Super fast shipping and product was just as described.
