Some of our doors have a wide gap and "normal" doorsteps are too thin. This works for all, and has a nice grip!

I have a couple of upstairs rooms where I like to leave the windows open at night during the summer so the house cools off, but a gust of wind will cause the doors to blow shut. I put one of these blocks on each door and now they stay open and the house stays cool in the summer. I also use one on my side garage door while I'm working in the garage and going back and forth to the back yard. Keeps the door from slamming shut which is great because my hands are usually full -- carrying tools and yard equipment.

The best and most versatile doorstop

We used to use these at work and I loved them. We had trouble with other doorstops since people would trip on them. We used this on the middle hinge of our doors. Unfortunately, we had to stop using them. They're made to be less sturdy than your door in case someone tries to force a door shut anyway, and we had too many truckers and a couple executives smash them. We loved these, but we couldn't keep up with people breaking all of them. We had to go back to using ropes for doors near railings and we placed a safety cone near the floor doorstop we have to use. These are still ingenious. If we weren't surrounded by people who think a door that won't close just needs to be shut harder, we'd still be using these. On the positive side, the products breaking saved our doors. Smashing tough things in your doors can warp them and distort their alignment so they no longer fit in the door frame correctly. Great design for door and human safety.

I bought these wedges to keep a mischievous cat from closing the door and locking themselves in a room. For that purpose, this product works great. I didn't want a regular door stop as I wanted to keep the floor clear.The problem I have is that I infrequently need to close the door, so It's a little cumbersome to pull the wedge out and dump it somewhere in the meantime. Other's have said that ignorant humans will just yank on the door to close it which breaks the wedge. I have don't have those at my house, so it hasn't been a problem for me.At the end of the day, I'm 4 star satisfied. These are awesome! We have carpet upstairs and hardwood downstairs. Wedges dont really work on either, they slide around. These hook right in the door frame at the hinge. Just lift up to take off and put on, from the inside. You can put on any hinge so dont even need to bend over to do it. Door stays wide open as well. Really happy with these.

This is great! It works well and it isn't obvious when it is installed so it really helps to have it on the door. Just remember to remove it before trying to close the door!
