Cable N Wireless Gold Plated Coaxial A/B Switch for Splite TV Antenna HDTV Cable 2 Way Digital Optical Coax Splitter

I have little knowledge about tv antennas and such..and am a 68 year old woman just trying to get rid of my big Directv bill.. so this is what I did.. I closed my Directv account and found that with my existing tv tower from years ago, I could pull in about 9 channels on it.... then I tried a second antenna that is for inside the house .. and found I could get 7 or 8 different channels using that. But would have to unscrew the cable and and screw the second cable in to change to the other channels.I thought maybe if I bought the AB splitter I could feed both antennas into the device and simply switch it back and forth so I could get access to both sets of channels from both antennas and not have to keep unscrewing the two different cables all the time.To my surprise when I tried this.. and for a totally unknown reasons to me, I could pull in a few channels with the switch in one position but then I slide the switch to the opposite side, my tv pulled in 50.. yes 50 channels all crystal clear from the antenna tower... I have no clue as to why this happened.. but suffice to say I am not touching anything and will leave it as it is. I have 50 channels crystal clear and I am happy. The AB splitter was a great investment for me.

My parents like to switch between cable and air antenna, so this item hit the spot for their needs. The switch box I received is comes also with two mounting screws and noted as both being 24k Gold plated and working with 100db. 5 to 900 MegaHertz. I used an old patch-cable (about 12 inches) to reduce signal loss between the box and t.v. I will continue to evaluate its progress throughout the next couple of weeks to see how it does.

I bought two different brands of this and it is a great way to hook up two antennas to one tv so that you can put two antennas up and select which one is actually getting the best signal. Why did I buy two, simply figured one would arrive earlier than the other, this one came in first and now I have a back up if the switch ever breaks. Going through many web pages, others recommended this as a solution because you cannot have two antennas actively working at the same time,they were correct.

I have a minimal cable package plus an HDTV antenna. This gives me the opportunity to watch either one depending on the channels available and picture quality.

As described. When the cable fails, my window antenna is always connected. Flip the switch on the plug and change 'cable' to 'air' on the tv setup. It is moron monkey useable.

Does exactly what I needed. I swapped the inputs and output and have one input cable attached to the single "out" connection and two output cables attached to the "in" connections and it works fine.

I remember that these switches could be found in any store carrying electronics up until the 90's. Not anymore.If you're weaning yourself off of cable and satellite, this is the ticket. Soon you'll be able to leave it on antenna only : )
