It's a keeper!
This was an excellent choice for my application. It's not going to win the bass soundoff competition at the car show but it pumps out plenty of good bass sounds. I have a 1995 Camaro Convertible so space is at a premium. This unit was too big to fit under a seat so I mounted it on a shelf just behind the rear seat upright. It fits well. Almost everything you need to install the sub-woofer is included. You'll need to get a 30 amp fuse. The power wire (which is 17' long) comes with an in-line fuse holder for a glass fuse. I elected to get a different fuse holder that uses the blade fuse. My head unit supplied a sub-woofer out connection. This unit comes with a wiring connection that can either hook up to a regular RCA phono plug (male) or you can hook it into your speaker wires. I went with the phono plug so I had to get an audio cable for that. I found a 12' stereo audio cable with male RCA phono connectors on each end at Walmart for $8. This unit's wiring connector is a stereo input but you usually only wire a sub-woofer for mono input; my head unit only had a single output. In this case you usually connect the signal to the left input which I did. I connected the right line to the sub-woofer but taped it off at the head unit for later use if necessary. Then you hook up your power turn on wire to your head unit or you could connect a switch and manually activate your sub-woofer, This unit comes with three options for powering it on. DC activation (supplied by your head unit), Audio (it senses when you have audio on your speaker wires), or Remote (a remote switch and boost control is provided). I went with the DC turn-on since my head unit provides it and because I didn't want another control to have to mount on the dash. This unit also comes with a ground wire that has an eyelet on one end. You generally use a screw to mount the eyelet to the car's metal body to supply the ground. For the best ground supply you should sand off the paint to raw metal and then screw the eyelet down. Ok the bottom line, how does it sound? It sounds great! It provides that bass frequency that really fills out the music and I can hear the bass guitar, and other instruments in the bass range, so clearly. There are several adjustments on this unit for you to adjust it to your preference. I'm very pleased with this purchase. Reasonable easy to install and it sounds great. It's a keeper!

Its not the size that matters
Very happy with purchase. This is my 2nd unit (1st one was stolen on recent trip - don't leave unlocked :() and price now is less than what I paid for on a Black Friday deal directly from mfg. so a killer deal. Bought for my 16 year old son and installed under rear seat of Ford F-150. I think it has plenty if not too much bass if turned up all the way for my 50+ tastes, but for my son - he would like to install 2 or 3. The nice thing about this unit is that it fits easily underneath F-150 seat - not too tall. If you sit on the seat directly over it with bass cranked - you definitely feel the vibration. I like having the wired remote which allows me to turn down or my son to turn up easily up depending on who is in the car. I replaced the stock stereo/speakers with Kenwood KDC-X500 and Pioneer TSD6802R front/rear speakers which combined with the RF subwoofer - was a great upgrade at reasonable price. Some reviews say you won't hear it coming but I do when my son pulls up and I think more than enough bass for any vehicle when positioned in main compartment (vs trunk). Install was pretty easy - I did buy a separate kit - don't recall details but although the unit came with the wiring, I think it may not have had the fuse holder/fuse which has to be bought separately. Overall, good sound quality/adds plenty of bass to rock/rap.

I tried a few cheaper no-name brands, this one is a keeper
For what it is and how many watts the amplifier is, it's a great little sub! I have it installed in my 1 ton Chevy van under the passenger seat. I made custom brackets to bolt to the seat frame and it works out extremely well. After some fine-tuning and the addition of a four channel amp and upgraded speakers throughout, the sound quality is 200% better. I have zero distortion all the way up to full volume and I like to rock out a lot, so this seems to be the right choice for me with limited space. I originally tried the SSL8 inch sub woofer for $85 and it was a total disappointment. They claim 600W!! Rockford Fosgate was at least honest with their advertising and claims 150W. The sub and amplifier in one convenient small package is a well matched unit. It's not going to rattle the car next to you but it certainly fills my van with great music at an affordable price, I have a divider in my van and the backside is filled with tools for my business so it's just the small cabin area. I didn't expect miracles but I am very happy. This sub will probably work in most small cars and small single cab pick up trucks but I wouldn't expect it to perform as well in a large car or crew cab. Remember you pay for what you get. Save up your money and get a unit you can trust from a well-known name brand company.

Had this amp professionally installed behind the seat of my 2015 f150 super crew. There's still plenty of room between the back of the seat and the sub. The sound is great from my stock head. Highly recommend this sub/amp for a truck person who doesn't want to lose and cargo space and have their sub completely hidden.
