A gripping, satisfying conclusion to a suspenseful, supernatural murder mystery
Ever since the first book, I've been hooked on the Brody's Ghost graphic novel series. The stunning, black and white, manga-esque artwork; the complex characters, and the engaging plot is constantly filled with twists and turns, and each installment of ghost-seer Brody's quest to figure out who killed his ghost friend, Talia, and catch the serial killer before his girlfriend becomes the next victim, builds and builds. With each book, the stakes are heightened, and the cliffhangers are even more nail-biting than the last.In this final installment, Talia helps Brody make a daring escape from police custody, and from there, it becomes a race against time to track down the Penny Murderer and put an end to his killing spree before he kills Brody's ex-girlfriend, Nicole. Will our heroes finally find out who the serial killer is? And will Brody stoop to becoming a murderer as well to exact revenge for Talia's death? There's really not much I can comment on here without spoiling the entire plot. But all I'll say is that I was completely blown away. From the suspenseful chase, to the nail-biting showdown with the killer, to the satisfying ending that wraps up the story, but leaves it open-ended enough that we could possibly get a sequel. And I really hope that at some point in the future, we DO get a sequel. Because it sounds like Brody's training to unlock all his ghost-seer powers has only just begun.Mark Crilley has created a six part masterpiece of art and storytelling. Just pick up the first volume and see for yourself. And now I've got to hunt down his other works! ^^

which is good, because ending right after the climax would leave ...
Mark Crilley's murder mystery involving the active participation of the victim is much more supernatural than Christopher Priest's Dual (see that review elsewhere on Amazon) and far safer to read in public. :) It also took a LOT longer to write, as Crilley notes in the end notes. Most of the mystery has been worked out at this point, leaving only relatively unimportant details (like the name of the killer) and an extended urban chase scene in the rain. A goodly chunk of this volume is actually denounment, which is good, because ending right after the climax would leave way too many danglers. And they lived (or, you know, remained dead), happily (or surly-ly) ever after. Recommended.

Great book. mark!
Great ending book by the person who inspired me to be a manga artist. This book is a great transition from the cliffhanger twist ending of the last book.Although the books don't hit me as the best in story telling, the art is top notch for a manga. Overall the story is pretty simple, but good. He did a good job in these titles.

Perfect art style to match the tone of the story. Love these books!
I like this series a lot. The story has interesting and well developed main characters with some turns you might not expect. I really enjoy the size of the books (apx 5.25"x7.25") as well as the high quality pages of a graphic novel. Of course Mark Crilley's artwork is the main reason I read the whole series. I really enjoy the style in these books and have two sets of the six installments. One for travel, and one for looking nice on my shelf.

wow! what a find!
I'd never heard of this book before but I saw it through amazon and decided to give it a shot. So glad I did! This, the final issue is so very satisfying, I feel the need to go back to the previous issues and give them ALL five stars. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next!

A fitting end
This is the fitting end to the series.Represents what makes comics & manga great - showing us a movie that would never exist otherwise.

Great conclusion to a great story
Mark is one of my favorite artists and writers. I followed this story from the Christmas after the first two volumes were released all the way to the end. Mark's commitment to both his how to draw videos and his storytelling is very strong, and I admire him immensely because of it. I hope to read more of Mark's books soon. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a great, well-thought out story that keeps you drawn in right up until the end.
