240 - 50 in two rows and 10 in 4 rows in the side. A little space left unfilled.

Do then handles pivot down to open and up over the side and top of lid to latch or do the latches pull out and back in to secure?

They pivot down to open up over the side & top. These are the good ones. Not like the latches that pull back & push in. These are very sturdy & I have 6 or 8 of them.
