A fun summer read
Best friends, Jess and Vicks, aren't clicking like they use to, so Jess has a plan that will bring her and Vicks close again - a road trip to see Vicks's boyfriend, Brady, who is at University. There's only one issue, they don't have enough money to fund the trip. Enter Mel, the new girl. Mel volunteers to help them fund the trip as long as they take her along with them, much to Jess's dismay. What follows is a hilarious and endearing tale of friendship and love with a couple of crocodiles. Lauren Myracle writes as Jess, E. Lockhart as Vicks and Sarah Mlynowski as Mel.I absolutely loved the characters in this book. Jess, Vicks and Mel are all well fleshed out and relatable. Since each character is written by a different author, each voice is very distinct, yet, the story is cohesive. In the beginning, I was a little skeptical at how Mel would have fit in - what exactly was her story and why was she so keen on hanging with Jess and Vicks? How to be Bad explores these friendships, the road trip serving to bring out the good and the bad in each of them. For these girls, the trip is definitely about the journey, not just the destination. While it's light and fun, How to be Bad has a lot of depth to it, walking a balance between hilarious and serious. It's a heartwarming story of the love of friends. I love the character growth, it made the book feel more like someone's diary than the imaginations of three authors. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more from these ladies and hopefully their future work together.

Badbottom Best Friends!!!
Jesse, Vicks and Mel work together at the Waffle. They are crazy, impulsive, and each has their own secrets that they are afraid to share. A road trip to visit Vic's boyfriend teaches them a lot about life, love, survival, and how to be a best friend. Very enjoyable book. Highly recommend to girls, young and old!

Great Book
I bought this book because I have read everything that e. lockhart has written. I absolutely love her books. This was wonderful as well. The chapters rotate between three teenage girls' perspectives. They are each dealing with their own issues, and it was fun to read all the perspectives. I would recommend this book if you enjoy realistic YA fiction.

Worst road trip book ever
The whole story was disappointing. The way the characters interact do not seem real at all. Every character was annoying and the only part I enjoyed was the part with Old Joe. I'm disappointed that I paid $10 for this. I would not recommend this book even if you recieved it for free.

For younger readers?
I loved We Were Liars and the Disreputable History... by E. Lockhart so I was eager to read the rest of their books ASAP. I am halfway through How to be Bad and it's a bit disappointing compared to the other two. It lacks sophistication. The characters are 3D but I don't care about them and I think the intention behind them is too obvious - nothing is left to the reader's imagination. The story is a bit tedious and I'm still waiting for the part where they go "bad". They keep talking about being badasses but really nothing about the plot is particularly extraordinary, so I'm thinking this is aimed at younger readers, whose expectations of badass-ness are lower. It's just that the Disreputable History... had so many great, risky pranks that I thought this would have a similar vibe. Also, please note that there is some sexual content that may not be appropriate for younger readers, despite the somewhat basic language that would be suitable for them. I should probably say that I'm in my twenties and it's definitely not aimed at me anyway, but I do enjoy YA books and this isn't up to par with E. Lockhart's other ones. Hopefully it'll pick up at the end?

Thought provoking
Having heard about this book from YouTuber Essie Button, I was expecting something a bit different and more put-together. 'How to be Bad' felt awkward in its beginnings and the lack of description of the physical features of the characters made it difficult, for me, to decipher some key elements. This was a quick and easy read that allowed you to take on the viewpoint of three young girls, each battling their own issues and with a focus on breaking out of their usual habits. Set in Florida, the book does describe much of the state's defining features as they road trip through it which was interesting. Although I struggled to really get to grips with the characters of this book until almost the end, it does leave you with some questions about your own life and some points that stick with you after you've put it down.

I love reading, so finding new authors is always exciting
I love reading, so finding new authors is always exciting. Not really sure what to think about the book. I liked the title and the description so I've decided to give it a go.The story line is not really complicated and a bit enjoyable but at the same time, because of the fact that it's written by three different authors it gets quite confusing. I need to admit that I've been looking forward to reading two out of three characters point of few as I've enjoyed the style those have been written in. The last one not so much. All in all, the book is not bad, but definitely not one of my favourites.

How to be bad review
This book was a really good! I just couldn't stop reading it and putting it down, I like the really different characters in each one I think it was really good idea. I would recommend this book to call ny friends an I think it is better than her other book ' We are Liars' because using like that book but this one was definitely better by 1000% for sure.

Amazing
I love this book like the other of E.Lockhart's books. I love the mix of three characters, all different from each other but then kind of the same. I would recommend this book to 13+ but mainly to older teens and young adults. If you like this book I would recommend We Were Liars and other of E.Lockharts books.
