I've never given a Charles Band movie higher than a 3 til now.
This movie is a total mix... it starts with an opening that would be a credit to most Hollywood big budget film...then does a full 180 with a cheap softcore sex scene followed by mutilation (Charles Band style). The movie will then movie into low budget overly complex story about an apartment complex and it Bizarre inhabitants, somehow this works. The special effects are wide ranging and have a note of low budget but competently done...(after the opening scene). The characters while not in-depth, are well portrayed and strangely believable. Also look out for several homages to earlier Band movies, which sprinkled thru the movie. There is sex, nudity, and violence, however this may just be Bands best work and at times shows a maturity his movies seldom display. Going to recommend it to low budget lovers, after the first scene which actually gets worked back into quite well, you will probably enjoy it.

Disappointing "ending"
This movie was one of a group of flics that Amazon suggested to me. It looked interesting and it was by Full Moon. I've got quite a few great films by that studio, so I took a chance without checking the reviews. It was quite enjoyable until the credits abruptly began to roll. I had to do a bit of digging in order to find out that this "movie" is the collected first 3 episodes of a series. This is not mentioned in the listing for the DVD, and it should be, along with other pertinent information regarding whether there will be upcoming episodes or if Full Moon has abandoned this project. While I enjoyed the film, I was left hanging and disappointed in the end.

Excited for Episode 2
In this genre it seems like different movies have a wide range of strenths, and this series shows its stregth in the acting. The acting is phenomenal, putting it in a slightly different category of the genre that I'm not used to. That being said, I'm giving four stars for a few other things that didn't match up. The sex scene they open with felt tacky but the rest of the show makes that first scene feel a little out of place, and proceeds to improve as it moves along. The music has a great Twin Peaks sound, making it moody and eerie. There are two scenes that were longer than they needed to be, and it would have been nice to see that time devoted to developing the characters. His characters are great and his casting was perfect. It's a great start to what looks like a great show.

is great; so natural you don't know he's acting
An old-time creepy film with new-time video techniques. The leading man, Evan Henderson, is great; so natural you don't know he's acting. I'll look for him in other things. Overall a fun watch! Make some popcorn and be ready to get scared.
