its a very comfy ride now
put this thing on my2019 rad cargo bike, had to shim down 2 times from a humongous 34.9 original seat post but it works well and my butt is very pleased. i weigh 215 and the post seems to handle it just fine. a much smoother ride now i wish i would have done this when i first got the bike. very very happy so far. if anything changes i will update this review

Good Value
I installed this on my bike packing rig and since then I've ridden several hundred miles on various road surfaces; potholed and broken pavement to single track. It's a good value and works just fine if you'd rather not spend more for another fancier brand. People who complain that it doesn't work are probably adjusting it wrong. It works best if you understand that it's spring loaded and so the spring must be pre-compressed according to your weight. If you squish it all the way down when you sit on it, try tightening the adjustment screw on the bottom of the post. I weigh over 190 when I'm on the bike and the post works just fine for me.

... to get a seatpost that will make it feel like they are sitting on a cloud
Some people that have reviewed this item were looking to get a seatpost that will make it feel like they are sitting on a cloud. If you have a soft squishy seat post, all the power you are producing on every peddle stroke is lost to that absorption. If you bike to actually get somewhere, you can't have that. The only thing you can realistically get out of a seatpost is cutting out some of the quick jar that is going to hurt you--the jars that would otherwise be forced up your tailbone and result in back pain.I have tried the thudbuster as one reviewer said to save your money for, but he has not tried. Yes, it is better; mostly because it is adjustable. If you have it set properly for your weight, it is just as stiff, but you can set it 50 or 100 pounds less and it moves a lot and you feel like you're getting more out of it. If you want to absorb every crack in the road at the expense of the energy you put in, then that is the setup for you. Also as he said, it is over 5x the price. If you want to get the worst part of a hard jarring from a tree root or dropping off a curb, this is a great product. It's cheap enough, and keeps you from pain. If you're quite out of shape, it may not do the whole job for you, but it will help to get through those first couple weeks of getting back into shape; keeping you from being in the kind of pain that would make anyone give up. It's a great product that does it's job well, when you have a realistic expectations and understand what it was made to do.There's a cheap anatomical relief seat also on amazon from the same place that is $13 right now. The seat helps a lot. These paired together, I can't hurt myself biking--and I bike in a pretty brutal style that makes it do I can't keep a bike lock on my bike because the mounts for them tear themselves apart from the shock of jumping curbs and such. I don't think I can link it, but it will come up if you search for "Gavin anatomic relief."

Great quality but I fitted with a lighter duty spring
I ordered this seatpost for my hardtail fatbike. The item was as described and fit perfectly in my frame. For the price, the product is suprisingly high quality and weighed less than I expected. The seat for/aft and angle adjustments can be made to suit your specific bike fit. The internal spring is way too stiff for your average person. I'd estimate that a 300 lb person would find it works, but I'm around 180lbs. The spring is 4" in length and there are plenty of replacement springs sold for reasonably low prices. I replaced it with a Century Spring P/N C-822 which has almost the same dimensions but is a lighter duty spring. Even though the seatpost is still very stiff after the replacement spring, I find that it works much better for my specific needs. Most people will want an ever lighter duty spring than the one I replaced it with and I might get one after further experimenting. The rating of four stars factors in the price.****For the Thudbuster fans, I did use the Thudbuster but did not like it. The Thudbuster is an ok suspension seatpost but it throws the bike fit off since it forces the seat unacceptably too far rearward. There is no fix for this issue, it is the physics of the Thudbuster design.

Pretty limited absorption
Could have more flex but it works. Careful adjusting it as it is under pressure. Almost lost a fingernail! :)

Great post for the money.
I bought this to replace an 18-year-old USE XCR shockpost that had finally failed. The clamp for the saddle rails is more secure than the one on my old post, and the preload is just about right for a 175-pound rider. However, I wish they made this in a little longer size. I had to install at its minimum insertion to fit my height. It works just as well as my old XCR, but it's a quarter the price. It soaks up the unexpected shocks, saving your butt, your back, and your rear tire, but be advised that posts like this are not a replacement for a full suspension bike. Your hardtail will still ride like a hardtail, but it won't beat you up as much.A word of caution: the cap on the larger tube can be unscrewed so you can remove the smaller tube to adjust the preload. It is not screwed on tightly enough as shipped, and it came unscrewed during a ride. You have to screw it on tightly using a pair of channel lock pliers with tape on the jaws to prevent gouging the aluminum.

Well made but too stiff
nice looking seat post, great value but the spring is too stiff, I am 190 lbs and it barely moves with adjustment at lightest possible setting, manufactured does not to offer other spring options ...seems like a wasted opportunity to me

SATORI Harmony Bike Bicycle Suspension Seatpost
The suspension works very well, for me what falls short is the saddle level adjust. I cannot set the saddle to the position I want due to the teeth on the trunion. I would much prefer a smooth trunion, place the saddle anywhere I want.

Nice post for the price
I have a hardtail 29er, just wanted something to smooth out the roots and potholes. This works really well. It doesn't change your bike to full suspension, but it saves your butt on the smaller bumps you don't see coming. I would recommend.
