Excellent New Astrology Book!
As a professional astrologer I'm always looking for good books to recommend to clients. Astrological Transits: The Beginner's Guide to Using Planetary Cycles... is without a doubt a great book for beginners to learn about the transits, but as I read through it, I realized there is so much more in the pages of this great book than the title suggests.Kent writes with humor, charm, intelligence and insight on the transits, creating a book that has a lot to offer experienced astrologer's as well as beginner's.Even though I have been studying astrology for over 25 years and doing professional readings for over ten, I received new insights from reading this book that were an unexpected gift. One of the things I most appreciate about Kent's perspective is that while it doesn't sugarcoat the transits, it also doesn't leave you feeling like the more difficult planetary shifts are going to be all "doom and gloom". Kent writes with such a warm, funny and yet somehow comforting voice that it makes you feel like somehow, despite the inevitable ups and downs that are part of life and that are mirrored by the planetary movements, everything is really going to be ok.One of my most favorite lines from the book illustrates her approach, "Every astrologer's favorite keyword for Pluto seems to be "transformation." But I consider that a euphemism, a consolation prize for enduring Pluto's transits. "Oh it'll be great. You'll be transformed!" But who among us asks the universe for transformation? We want money and sex and acclaim!" So true! Both from the side of the counselling astrologer and the human being. Reading this I laughed out loud in recognition of my own desire to try and sweeten the always intense effects of the Pluto transits for myself and my clients.I also particularly loved how Kent used personal stories from her life and the lives of famous people to illustrate the possibilities for how certain transits might play out. These stories make the planets come alive and also showcase the many creative ways that the same transits can manifest differently for different people.Astrological Transits is now on my Top 10 List of Favorite Astrology Books and I will be recommending to clients and friends alike!

The Best Interpretations!
April doesn't need wordy, texty writing to convey her resonant guidance on the subject. She can pack a lot of meaning into a few sentences. Each paragraph is its own, delectible Sabian symbol-- Here's one I came up with: eating a perfect, glazed scone with tea or coffee on a quiet summer morning. This book promotes deep consideration of transits. I'm super glad I have the hard-bound edition.

Good for a beginner
I found the time tables in the book to be most helpful. This book is good for a beginner who doesn’t know much about transits and want insight as to what it is, and what it means in each astrology sign

I absolutely LOVE this book
I absolutely LOVE this book! The astrological community has been in need of a new and relevant book on transits for a very long time, Astrological Transits does and excellent job of responding to this need. April's interpretations are clear, concise and insightful. I found her straightforward and honest assessment of the outer planet transits to be both refreshing and encouraging. April reminds us that though these transits may be difficult and push us out of our comfort zone, we'll be better for it in the long run.I also thoroughly enjoyed her chart interpretation in Chapter 16, Transits In Action. An amazing and wonderful fact about astrology is there's always more to learn. Both the novice and professional astrologer will find valuable usable information in this book. Astrological Transits should be a part of every astrologers library.

Brings astrology into the 21st Century!
Astrology - especially transits - used to be an arcane science full of perplexing dictums and rigid rules. April Elliott Kent brings it into the 21st Century, unveiling its secrets in a most delightful way. Much like Caroline Casey's classic, Making the Gods Work for You, Kent engages us with fascinating personal stories and keen observations, as she shares her intimate knowledge of the planetary gods and reveals how we can understand the rhythms of our lives by paying attention to their heavenly movements. While reading this book, I felt like I was embraced in the warm, knowing arms of someone who had really mastered their subject matter - and was able to translate it in a way that my deepest self could easily absorb and feel nurtured by. A tremendous achievement!

Improve your good day ratio...
"The beginners guide to using planetary cycles to plan and predict your day, week, year..." A pretty bold promise on the front cover, but one that is absolutely delivered inside the latest offering from astrologer April Elliott Kent. This book is an explanation of astrological transits and how to use them to intentionally make the most of what's on offer. The concept is not one of predicting the future, but is more about deliberately improving what I like to call your good day ratio.April's voice is clear and uncomplicated as she takes us through the aspects made by planets to points in your chart, and what it means as they move through the "houses" or parts of life.Astrological Transits is an absolute must for the bookshelf of anyone interested in astrology- and, indeed, anyone interested in making the most of the opportunities and challenges that life throws our way.Disclaimer: I purchased the kindle version of this, and was gifted a flexiback version by the publisher for review purposes.

Fantastic Book
This is the best, easy to understand astrology book I have purchased. April makes it easy reading and enjoyable, full of the correct information needed. With her sense of humour, the heavy doom and gloom parts are so much easier to understand. I follow April's work because her work is a pleasure read. Her books stay on my desk as reliable reference information.

An insightful guide for planetary transits
If you know enough astrology to find your way around a birth chart (and if you don’t, April’s first book “The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology” is a great place to start), but find yourself puzzling over what particular transits actually mean when they hit, here is book that will help you work out the who, what, where and even the why.It tackles this daunting proposition in three easily digestible parts: first the nature of aspects, then planets aspecting other planets and finally planets transiting houses. But there’s more, such as planetary cycles and how they relate to the cycles of our lives, a close look at the transits of a time-travelling actor and plenty of lessons from key moments in history. April doesn’t just dryly point out things like “this means that”, she tells stories and paints pictures with insight, and does so in a way that makes you feel smart. You could read this cover-to-cover, but I’d recommend an initial reconnaissance trip, pausing occasionally to zoom in on anything you’ve gone through recently, have coming up or that strikes a chord, then keep this book close to hand for all those times when you really need to know what THAT means.

Consigliato
