PreSonus StudioLive AR16c 18-Channel USB-C Hybrid Digital/Analog Performance Mixer, Unpowered

I had been making music in garage punk bands since the early 90s, but was never able to figure out how or get the tools to record multitrack audio for mastering. That was until I bought a StudioLive AR16c 18-channel mixer.With this sweet digital/analog hybrid mixer, I can record and edit in Studio One and master music. Indeed, with the StudioLive AR16c, I literally have no more excuses to not make music.

I purchased this soundboard in April 2023 for my online ministry. Since this was a new experience for all involved, it took time and a learning curve to get all the pieces together to stream our services. We were ready to go live and used the soundboard for our first live stream on July 9, 2023. It worked well until August 20, 2023 at which time the main fader no longer controlled the volume. Just touching the fader button without sliding it, caused the in-house volume to spike to an unbearable screech. We were unable to control the in-house volume at all, having to keep in-house sound off altogether.I contacted Amazon as this product is still under warranty. They advised that the return window was closed and I was to contact PreSonus. I have attempted to contact PreSonus both telephonically and by email through their website using the details that Amazon provided me with. PreSonus never responded to my email and did not answer their phone – only leaving me to listen to information about their products on the phone line.I returned to Amazon advising them that I could not get any response from PreSonus, but they have stuck by their stand that the return window is closed and I have to contact the manufacturer. They have made no move to help me in this regard.This has been a disappointing experience to say the least. One would not expect a $700 soundboard to work for only a month. Neither would I have expected that customer service would be so poor from PreSonus or that Amazon would support such a seller on their platform.Buyers, please sort the reviews by date order rather than the default "Top Reviews" order. I wish I had done this before purchasing this soundboard.

We got this for use on outside broadcasts. We've had it about three years, and I won't get authorization yet to replace it, so I'm stuck with it.As a basic mixer, it's OK. But, there are only two aux outs (so we can't use IEMs on outside broadcasts), and the recording 'facility' is garbage; you can't control the levels sent to the recorder separately from the levels sent to the mains, which means you end up giving up control.

The media could not be loaded. I've owned two Presonus Studio live mixers. Both died very quickly. The first was the AR22 model. It lasted 15 months. The second was the upgraded AR16c model. It lasted about 18 months. Presonus has very unreliable components in their hardware. Their tech support isn't helpful at all and they won't look at their stuff unless you pay them a $250 bench fee. I am flabbergassed that I got two short lived mixers in a row. I did like the features and sound but it's a short lived pleasure. I have launched another inquiry to Presonus about fixing the problems with the second mixer. I know that they won't care. I would guess that they have a long line of ex customers that never got their mixers replaced or fixed. How can they continue this way? Look elsewhere if you want a reliable mixer and good customer service. Presonus does NOT stand behind their products.

I have purchased three different Presonus Studio Live boards. They work great until they don't. Presonus has a problem creating a unit that will last longer than the one year warranty. I bought an AR 16 USB and power supply quit about one month after the warranty. I got it fixed but it cost 175. for repair and 280.00 to have it shipped for repair. That was May 22, 2021. This week 8 months after the repair it is blown again. I can't afford to have it repaired again for the same damn reason. Of course Presonus does not offer any help other than to request an RA and ship it to be repaired. Not gonna happen. Never purchase another Presonus product.

Bought this unit in 2020 and used it 20-25 times since that time. The unit started having issues and Presonus has politely refused to correct the issue. I would not purchase a mixer from this company again!
