are these spring loaded like the tipton's?

These are far superior. The Tipton cracks and is not as well manufactured. I still have my first five A-zoom caps from four years ago and they are still working for me.

I have a Walther PPQ, and this round will not let my chamber close, unless I assist it.

How are you loading it? From the mag or placing it directly in the chamber? Are you letting the slide “fall” naturally with the force of the spring or slowing it down with your hand? Is it possible it’s just getting hung up on the extractor b/c the slide isn’t closing with with the proper force?

how is the longevity on these? from your individual standpoint.

I have these in .40 and .45, both of which are seven years old. No problems. Only one of the .45 had the rubber primer wear out. I'll be buying the 9mm for sure. Great dummy rounds.

The package says they are the same exact size as 9mm but they are slightly shorter

If you go buy 5 different brands of 9mm ammo, they will all likely be different lengths as well. With snap caps it makes sense to make it as short as possible while still cycling properly. Last thing you want is to have a jam in a short chambered gun. Unlike a live round, there's nothing to assist the ejection other than the extractor.
