LEGOJuniors 10686 Family House Building Kit

The optimal level of challenge and reward for our 5 year old girl, who just transitioned away from Duplo. Lego Juniors really fills that gap between Duplo and the 6-year-old+ sets. While there are enough prefab pieces to make this doable for a younger child, there is still enough complexity to make it an age-appropriate challenge. Moreover, the level of detail in the completed product is simply stunning and is equal to the detailing in the 6-year-old+ sets. The kitchen has appliances, the TV swivels on a mount, there's a bed with a lamp, and bathroom is fully furnished. There's a mailbox with a letter in it. The backyard BBQ piece has a grill and a drumstick cooking on it. Just so much detail and yet still with a build complexity appropriate for the younger post-Duplo child. The set also is very playable as a dollhouse and our daughter has been using it for just that since she finished building it. This is a solid set and I highly, highly recommend it.

This is really cute! I think even adults will enjoy playing with it. It will help spark a kids imagination and help them improve their eye and hand coordination. I love Lego because it is not only fun but educational as well and definitely it will last a long time!

This is a great set for young Lego fans! A lot of pieces and very detailed!! We purchased as a gift for a 5 yr old girl and my own 5 yr old daughter very much would have liked to keep it for herself - a good sign of a great gift! Instructions are great for non-readers, and the girls put this together themselves (my daughter has a fair amount of Lego experience, but this was the friend's first Lego set! A girly, yet not too princessy set. These pieces will still work nicely with other Lego sets for creative building for years to come, too!

I bought this for my Granddaughter’s fifth birthday. She was thrilled that she could understand the directions herself and had no real problems building the house. She told me that “there were people in there too, you know. And I had to it them together, too. I didn’t know there were so many things to build!” She really enjoyed it! She does recognize some words, but she is not a reader, yet.

Bought this for my 4 year old daughter as she loves watching legit friends and playing with legos. These were just a little too small for her finger. Her manual dexterity isn't matured enough to be able to handle these legos. I'm fully aware the age of recommendation on the package is for older children. I figured it would be something hat could be done together.

My 5 year old loves this play set. She was especially happy when she could take the hair off of the "dad" mini figure and have him look just like her dad. (Yes, she thinks she is so funny...)We play with this together quite a bit and have built it several times. It isn't difficult to build. I can show her the pictures and give her very little guidance for her to build it practically by herself.

My daughter, 4, received this kit from Santa as she had asked for "girl legos" but is quickly getting past the Duplo stage of legos. The Juniors instructions were clear but she did need some help from daddy to put it together according to the directions. We had expected that being that she is only 4. She had a great time putting it together and made some good memories. Now she's having fun using her imagination and adding/changing things to her liking.

Great house for kids starting to put Lego together. It has lots of neat custom pieces, such as a sink faucet, dog, dog bone, teddy bear & 1x6 large windows. The best part is my 5 year old could build it following the instructions by himself. I have given this item as a gift too and it was loved. This is a great value for the parts included.
