Gaviscon Advance Chewable 60 Tablets Peppermint Pack of 3

My ENT gave me two choices: protein pump or Gaviscon Advance. I looked at the side effects of protein pump, and I've had friends who've had serious issues with them, and I strongly decided upon the Gaviscon Advance. I could hardly speak when I started taking the Gaviscon and after a few days I was back to normal. Then with a few lifestyle changes (no more sugary acidic sodas before bedtime) I found I didn't even need the Gaviscon after a few weeks. There were no withdrawal issues or other issues ever. This is an amazing natural-based product sadly not available in stores in USA. We need more safe and effective non-poisonous medicines like this! Three containers may be all most people will need to bridge the gap before the benefits of lifestyle changes kick in, or it's a good one month supply for maximum usage.

He says the US version is not made by the same formula or company and is therefore not the one recommended by Dr. Jamie Koufman for LPR.I just received my order of these chewables after 10 years of misdiagnoses for my chronic cough (severe LPR) and will report back after a trial of these.

I have evidently had LPR for many years...just didn't know it ...until I TOTALLY lost my voice ! I was overjoyed to find this product that clearly has helped a lot of people suffering from various gastrointestinal issues. I thought it odd that nowhere in the product description was an image of the label listing all the ingredients and product warnings. It was not until i opened my package and peeled back the multiple labels attached to the bottle that revealed the UK version of Gaviscon tablets contain Aspertame, an artificial sweetener that has been linked to a myriad of serious diseases including cancer, seizures, stroke and dementia as well as headaches and migraines. In 1980 the FDA banned aspartame from use after having 3 independent scientific studies because they found that aspartame came with a high danger of inducing brain tumors.I can personally attest to the headache link because I realized my headaches started back in the early 1980's shortly after I started using aspartame to sweeten my beverages.

My husband has used the Gaviscon Advance tablets for 6 months to manage symptoms of Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR). He uses 2 tablets after each meal and feels this significantly reduces his LPR symptoms such as excessive throat clearing, throat irritation, and the sensation of a lump in the throat---all typical LPR symptoms. After each meal, he drinks a glass of water, then chews two tablets which, in theory, creates a "raft" over the stomach contents and prevents it from traveling up into the esophagus. He then avoids eating or drinking anything for a couple of hours. The tablets have a minty flavor and have a slight "chalky" texture when chewed, but he does not find this objectionable. He feels the Gaviscon has been highly effective at reducing or eliminating his symptoms.

I occasionally suffer from LPR or "silent reflux" and these help it more than any prescription that I have been on. They are so easy to take. I keep them with me and just chew one when I get LPR symptoms.

I keep buying these because they are the BEST to use when the liquid is not available or I run out. There is no comparison between these and the weak US version. I will pay a premium to get the strongest and the one with the most sodium alginate to build a good solid raft to keep my stomach contents where they belong.

These are already the best antacid there is, but you can make them better. Put one in between you gums and lips anywhere in your mouth and let it slowly dissolve. This lets the contents slowly coat your throat and esophagus, soothing all the way down. I even leaned to sleep while doing it. made me symptomless from brink of suicide, staying up to 5AM every night
