Best content review resource for EM boards out there!
I bought this book back when I was an EM intern some years ago looking for the "First Aid" book equivalent to accompany the "UWorld" that is Rosh Review for emergency medicine ITE/board prep. Recently passed the ABEM written boards very comfortably and definitely give this book a lot of credit for some of that test taking success over the years! Now as an academic EM attending, I find myself mentioning this resource to my residents all the time. This book is spot on for a lot of the content on the actual test and is such a quick, easy, fun to read review of some high yield points. Just wanted to thank you again for this awesome resource and will be sure to keep passing the word along!

The best EM book ever!
This book is amazing!!! Everything in it is high yield emergency medicine. It is colorful and funny, yet its written in a logical manner and explains things in a way that is to the point but also has the background I need to make it stick in my mind. The best part of this book has to be the pictures. The ophthalmology chapter alone makes this book worth it. It has everything you will ever need to know about EM in one book, in a format that looks like what someones high yield notes they made throughout residency would look like. There are tips about how to differentiate different similar diseases from each other, and mnemonics along the way that are super helpful (especially the drug mnemonics!). There are also plenty of practice questions throughout the book with answers and explanations. Its truly a great book. I own a hefty stack of EM books, but its really the only one I ever look at since I bought it. It is the best money I ever spent on an EM book. Definitely the Ultimate EM Guide!

Great outline
Used this in combination with PEER to study for my qualifying exam. It was the perfect outline on which to take notes and focus on high yield topics. Great questions at the end of the book. Passed easily. Some small typos but no big errors in information.

THE. BEST
One of the most comprehensive straight forward review books that got me to the finish line. I am grateful for this book as well as the author. I had to pick one resource my last month before the exam, this was it and I don't regret it. Passed my qualifying boards. Buy this book. Don't think twice. Thank you Dr. Khan.

High-yield no-nonsense compendium for front-line medicine
I am a senior academic neurologist and physiatrist from Sweden. This means that I am NOT young, and NOT working in Emergency Medicine. Yet I feel Confident in stating that Dr Khan's book is an excellent way to learn "frontline medicine". What makes me feel apt to judge this? Well, first of all I have authored 15 books in the Medical field. Secondly, I have been teaching medicine to students and junior doctors for 30+ years. Thirdly, I take time each year to practise medicine in rural areas of Sweden, where you are exposed to emergency medicine every day.The unique features of Dr Khan's book are: 1. It's "no-nonsense", plain and straight; 2. It's style is enjoyable to read; 3. There is space for jotting down your own notes; 4. There is a very pedagogical interplay between text, page layout and Pictures. Good Medical books should be FUN to read! This is typically NOT the case. The Ultimate EM Guide, however, is an exception.A small caveat, though: I found a few facts that may be incorrect. e.g. isn't it typically the medial rather than the lateral meniscus which is torn in the "unhappy triad"-type of knee injury? In conclusion: Congratulations, Dr Khan! This book should be bought by any colleague who practises front-line, everyday medicine!

Questions have many errors
The book format and pace make for a nice review. The questions however have many errors that should have been caught in editorial review.

excellent review book!
I just bought this book and I am already loving it. I am a medical student rotating through my Emergency Medicine clerkship and this book is keeping me ahead of the game. The pages are very organized with numerous high-yield details with colored pictures. Not only is it straight to the point, the book is also currently updated from 2018. Highly recommend getting! Thanks Dr. Khan!
