NOT a replacement wire whip for the KitchenAid Stand mixer model KSM5.
This attachment is much shorter and rounder in shape than the one that is made for the KSM5. I bought this as a back-up, and was disappointed that it was not as stated. 1) This doesn't not come ANYwhere near the bottom of the bowl, 2) It will create scratches on the sides of the bowl (and make a terrible noise doing so)!

poor quality do not waste your money
apparently, wherever this item is made, they do not have good quality aluminum. the hub that connects the whip to the machine is made of poor quality aluminum that oxidizes badly to a soft black powder. no matter how well it is cleaned, it always is filthy. to compare, the whip attachment I still have from my first Kitchenaid always remains bright and clean. this one is shabby and not worth the money
