I found the piece difficult to install because it was difficult to get the joints tight, even with plumber's tape. Overall, the part did what it was supposed to do. My house was built in 1972 and the shower supply pipe has a ball on the end. This piece covers that and makes it possible to use modern showerheads without having a plumber replace the shower supply pipe. The only drawback is that because of the attachment device, the showerhead droops until water is running through it, and one can raise the showerhead which will stay in place until the water is turned off. A major drawback is that one has to buy all three attachments in order to find the one that fits. That makes it a more expensive purchase.

Our house had an older-style shower arm that I had never seen anywhere else, but a few videos online led me to this device to update it quite easily. There are three different brands that made these types of arms, so try to look for anything showing the brand before purchasing. Thankfully, this was the correct one (the branding was completely gone in our case), and it works perfectly. We now have a low-flow showerhead on the shower, and it works perfectly.

There's like 2 different styles, but mine was a pfister and this worked. Removing the pipe off an old unit is a slight risk because you might twist and damage it behind the wall which can be costly repair, so plugging on the adapter was quick and easy to add the new shower head. Not sure why they don't sell these at the local home improvement store.

It took 10 seconds to put on and literally resolve the problem that I thought it was gonna take me hours. Glad to have this thing definitely worth the $10. The Amazon review algorithm asked me about the range of motion but the range of motion is pretty much what I would expect it to be. It’s the same range of motion of a typical cheap 1970s showerhead. Not a whole lot but enough.

This product is not available for return so if doesn’t work for any reason you are stuck and out your hard earned money. Shame on you Amazon!

It was easy to order, shipped quickly, easy to install. Finally replaced the 50 year old shower head once I located this adapter. As seen in the picture, the adapter is the item with the knurled finish, I only had to hand tighten into the existing female piece on the original shower arm. Once I screwed on the new shower head to the adapter, it also tightened the adapter a bit more, I used no teflon tape and there are no leaks. If drips occur, I will use some teflon tape. Luckily for me, there was some comments on Amazon that described the measurements, I almost ordered a smaller size adapter. Once I put on the adapter it was easy to install a new shower head.

if you have an older style home try this one and the other versions too! you can return them if they don’t work! luckily for me, i got the right one on my first try !!
