I Must Have Bobo!

My son loves it
Kids love books they can remember the words to easily. It doesn’t hurt that the name bobo is fun and easy to say for little ones. We got this book from the library and it became a fast favorite and I had to buy a copy. I love that it’s relatable to kids (slide, dog, fort, coloring, pancakes, oatmeal etc) my son likes cats so he likes seeing earl. I’m not sure if he really understands earl’s character but he’s more interested in bobo. My son has an equally loved stuffed animal chi chi and he understands the character really wanting that animal. It’s a simple book but it’s one I now read about twice a day by request. It’s a quick and fun read.

Positively delightful!
Great concept and great execution!Willy uses Bobo to navigate his world and confront scary stuff (going down slides, walking past big dogs and dealing with "bitey" bugs). When Willy loses track of Bobo, the toddler employs his problem-solving skills to find his beloved friend. But not for long because Earl steals his sock monkey once again. The drawings capture the body language of child and cat alike and each page becomes a charming vignette that can almost stand alone.I shared the book with a young friend and she was positively delighted with it... so much so that I gave her my copy. By all means, add it to your gift list.

Everybody must have Bobo!
How often do you find a book that appeals to very young kids that surprises and delights after multiple readings? I gave Bobo to my nephew and it now sits on the top of the stack of "must read" bedtime books. He loves to point out the wicked Earl as he peaks around corners and hides in the bed. Great illustrations, wonderful story. Let's hear it for Bobo!

This series of books was the first my son read ...
This series of books was the first my son read to himself and laughed out loud. I was in pure bliss knowing he was comprehending as he read to himself. We gave them to nephews as gifts, and they became part of their night time reading every night. Wish there were more.

Heartwarming picture book
Great story - super fabulous illustrations - an engaging book that my children have enjoyed. Bobo is one of childrens' nicknames...and so we HAD to purchase this before we even read the story. And it's cute too when you know that Bobo in Korean means Kiss. Buy this for your munchkins and enjoy the simple sweet story - you won't be sorry.

A fun book for a family that has cats
I read this to a 5 year old and 3 year old twins. They stayed interested because of the sneaky cat, but I felt they had trouble understanding when Willie was attributing his own likes and dislikes to Bobo, in order to justify his own complaints. ("Bobo thought we were having pancakes.") Kids at the ages of these are pretty literal, unless the reader stops to explain, which sometimes gets complicated and disrupts the flow of the story. I think the author had a good idea, but did not communicate it clearly enough for the age group.
