Expensive but essential.
What price can you put on your equipment? In some ways, when you have £4k of camera and lens hanging off a strap, then £10 for peace of mind isn't so bad Another way to look at it is £10 for two bits of 3p plastic is pretty outrageous. I decided the former was for me and I bit the bullet twice (!) and spent £20 on four of these.Yes, Black Rapid should include these (glad they do now). There are those of us who bought straps before BR saw the sense to include these with any new purchase. I would argue that BR don't profess their straps to be full-proof though.I have a BR RS7 and a non Black Rapid double strap. These fit my cheaper double strap perfectly as well. It's ideal that if you have more than one body, then make sure you have spare FastenR's for each body. This is because the Lockstar prevents the springy clip thingy on your strap opening fully even when the Lockstar has been swung around out of the way when unclipping your camera from your strap. Basically, to separate your camera from the BR, you have to fully remove the Lockstar. I don't fancy clipping this on and off in case it breaks so now i just leave this in place and unscrew the FastenR from the tripod socket. Sounds like a right faff but it's not!An essential buy. Expensive in one way, but £10 isn't expensive in the greater sum of things. Buy it, fit it, forget it. Boom!

EXCELLENT!!
EXCELLENT!! I was worried about hanging a heavy, expensive DSLR from the BlackRapid Strap, and this gave me a better sense of security. Works really well. That said I think that I was worrying needlessly as the BlackRapid Sport Strap is one of the best purchases I have made.

NOT HAPPY!
Firstly, these are made of high quality plastic which seems to be very durable. And they arrived promptly. However, like many other reveiwers I feel ripped off! I have two (expensive) Blackrapid straps the sport and the wrist strap, both very well made and very useful, but I was gutted when I read reviews about the clip becoming undone and peoples very expensive cameras falling to the ground. This is an obvious design fault, for which they should have recalled/ fixed or at the very least sent out these clips free of charge. But alas, these greedy charlatans are labelling these as an accessory NOT a nacesity and charging us the "stuck between a rock and a hard place" consumer, there premium rate, for these necessary clips. Had these been under a fiver to purchase, which I'm sure would still allow them a profit, they would have probably just held on to me as a customer, because they would at least be admitting a little fault in the reduced price. Shame on you BLACKRAPID.

Could have been great
A potentially useful additional security device, which does also reduce contact between the metal fittings and the camera body. However, i agree with other reviewers that, for equipment as expensive as this, it should be included with the strap. ***WARNING*** You cannot use the Lockstar with the FastenR Stealth, because the Lockstar reduces the aperture on the ConnectR. Thus the manufacturer's claim that it "fits all BlackRapid strap products" is misleading. 5 stars for the idea, 0 stars for the price, and 2 stars for the lack of compatibility.

fine to be able to buy "spares"
This should be included with EVERY BlackRapid strap......fine to be able to buy "spares", but to have to buy this to stop the metal part of the very expensive strap rubbing the base of your very expensive camera is really quite a scam. Some straps in the BlackRapid range include these, so why not all?Come on BlackRapid, get your customer service together!

Black Rapid Lockstar... A no-brainer
Expensive this gizmo might be, but it's perfect for the job. I agree with many other reviewers that this lock should be part of the Black Rapid strap systems, and not an optional extra. However, I entrust my £1000.00 Nikon camera plus £400.00 lens to my Black Rapid system, and anything I can add to the system to make my gear more secure, I will (a fact which I am certain the canny marketing department at Black Rapid are fully aware). At the end of the day, given the high value of dslr gear these days, what difference does an extra tenner make. For the extra piece of mind this ingenious device offers, it's actually remarkably good value for money. If you value your beloved camera, and you use a Black Rapid strap to keep it secure, this lock is a no brainer. Don't quibble about the price - just buy it (anyway, you get two of them for this price, so how cool is that?).

2 in the pack
The Lockstar does the job and prevents the clip from opening which is great, however it is expensive and should be included with the original straps hence only 4 stars. The description should make it clear that two items are included in the packet. I needed two as I have an RS-4 sling camera strap and a wrist strap. I almost ordered two packs until I read some of the other reviews which pointed out that two units are included.I think that the Black Rapid straps are great but other manufacturers are now offering similar straps at lower cost so come on Black Rapid include the Lockstar as an added benefit.

Brilliant!
This is brilliant, so simple but could save a lot of tears. I use the Black Rapid straps for all my cameras and use a Metro and a Yeti plus a small wrist strop. The securing devise on the Carabinas can work loose which could lead to camera falling off the strap if you do not check them every so often. However this small devise clicks onto the carabina and stops the screw up locking device from moving at all, a must have as far as I'm concerned, if you have Black Rapid straps, which are excellent in them selves get some of these Lockstars and fit them now.

Too pricy
1500 INR for two small plastic pieces is excessive.

Antes compre una imitación China, la verdad es que no hay por donde comparar, es fabulosa, no vale la pena llevar nuestra preciada cámara con una imitación barata, esta es mucho más cara pero vale la pena el gasto. SIMPLEMENTE GENIAL

Works well for an issue that's pretty insignificant, but peace of mind, right?
I've been trying to find an alternative to the typical camera strap, so I thought I would try the Black Rapid concept. However, after reading a number of horror stories about cameras falling off the strap, I decided to get a little "insurance."The carabiner that comes with the BR strap has a screw-sleeve that screws down over the clip end to secure it in place and prevent accidental opening of the carabiner (you know this already if you have a BR strap). Really, the likelihood of the sleeve coming completely unscrewed and then somehow doing something to open the carabiner and have your camera fall off is really unlikely. Not impossible, just highly unlikely (it's more likely your camera will come unscrewed form the attachment bolt). That being said, having several thousand dollars worth of equipment hanging from a single carabiner, this a small price to pay for another bit of piece of mind. I have no idea what the scratching issue is, but if I've cured something else by getting it, great. The quality is good, fitting very securely over the carabiner and the sleeve when in the lock position. It's made from a tough nylon-like plastic, with a little give that enables easy but secure locking. I doubt it will break in normal use. So far in use it has done what it's advertised to do (which, admittedly, is a pretty low bar) and it actually looks nice, too.And I have a second one for a friend or for whatever.

Molto buono
Articolo molto interessante per evitare graffi sulla base della fotocamera, e maggior sicurezza per accidentali aperture del gancio.. Ottimo oggettino!
