Not all the claimed compatible part numbers are
I liked the item and several reviews claimed it would fit my tractor. It turned out to be a half inch wider than the existing clutch. When we pulled the existing clutch, we used the part number on that to search for a replacement and found an identical unit using that part number instead of the part number John Deere claimed. Seller should ensure reviews are for the same part being listed to ensure compatibility. So far, no problems with return. Will add more if that falls through, but so far it has been smooth sailing.

I installed this PTO, started the mower and the PTO literally blew apart into pieces.
I installed this replacement PTO correctly. I am a small engine mechanic looking to cut corners and not pay the full john deere price, so i purchased this unit. Once installed I hopped on the LX188 and turned on the pto, this pto blew into pieces. All the bolts were sheared and blew apart. I rebuilt the deck before the pto install. I installed new spindles, bearings, greased them, and installed oem belts. The unit i received went straight to the garbage can and taught me a valuable lesson on aftermarket parts. Junk.

Works just fine for my JD LX188. I had tried another brand that was cheaper, but the bearing sleeve was too long and didn't match the tractor's output shaft This one works great.

Pro clutches
I messaged the seller about refunds for both products I bought! I installed the two clutches , the first one I installed I thought was just a bad clutch and I ordered a replacement and low and behold that one was the same , I open up the last one and it was metal to metal! Causing deep grooves in the clutch!
