A good product
Give the critical reviews of knee pads in general, I was cautious about the purchase. Even so, I’m happy with my decision to buy. I’ll offer a few impressions and suggestions. I’m 5’10”, 177 lbs, and not possessed with tree-trunk-sized legs. The mediums fit fine. I haven’t crashed so cannot comment on post-crash durability although the abundant level of thickness and padding does inspire confidence against knee injury. I usually wear them on 7-20 mile rides and don’t experience any binding at the backs of my knees. I also will, on occasion, slip them down from my knees and wear them around ankles when on prolonged ‘flats’ rides, then stop and pull them up when nearing the descents since, these trail portions are somewhat spaced apart in my riding areas. This method allows the knees to breath and if you are worried about sun tan lines, it fixes that, too. I’ve also worn them in non-humid, 90 degree heat and don’t experience any discomfort levels. So, overall, a good buy when knee protection is the desired aim. If I could make one cost-saving suggestion to the manufacture it would be this: Incongruous as it may seem, this product comes packaged in an incredibly elegant box suitable for Tiffany window display on Michigan Ave, Chicago. Reduce the box glamour and pass the savings along to the customer.

Amazing knee pads for trail riding
My local trails are a lot of short steep climbing followed by downhill sections. These knee pads offer plenty of protection for everyday trail riding. Ive already fallen on them two separate times. First time was a pretty decent fall and I walked away with my knees unharmed. My forearm on the other hand....like a cheese grater(since have added protection there too). The fit is great; I followed the recommended measurements by POC. They dont slide around or come off during a crash. They also dont hinder your riding. I will say that when you first put them on they are slightly stiff but once they warm up from your body heat they mold right to your knee. I honestly dont even notice I have them on when I ride. That is until after a crash and you realize they saved your knees. I like these so much I wear them even when I ride a local park that is mostly pump, flow, and singletrack.

Worked when taking a spill
Get the size recommended by POC’s sizing chart. I got a size bigger (Large) when I should have got the mediums. Reason was is because I have bigger calves and was worried by other reviews that’s the mediums would be to small. I got into a nasty spill off a jump and noticed before on other trails they were slipping a bit while making them the tightest I could. The right knee pad slipped and scrapped my knee pretty good to where it looked more so like road rash. But they held up with no tears or rips with also protecting my knees where it covered so I can’t complain. Just remember, tight pads are good and follow the size chart!

4.5 stars
Was looking for something lightweight and these fit the bill. They are not as breathable as I had hoped, but it's hard to have good crash protection while also being breathable, so I get it. The padding is not super thick, but should be enough protection in all but heavy crashes. Once you have them on they are comfortable and conform to the shape of your leg really well. The material on the back does bunch up sometimes but it's only noticeable on long climbs, and I usually just slide them down around my ankles in that case.I wasn't totally sure on size, I have skinny legs and bought size smalls and they are snug, but the benefit of that it they do not move around at all on rough downhills. I think I could have gotten mediums and still had a decent fit, but they might not have stayed in place as well. I'd rather have them be a little tighter and not move, personally.I think these might be a little overpriced compared to some other similar options, but overall I'm happy with them.

Price of pads < Price of doctor bill
Love these pads. I bought them for abrasion protection, but they do offer some impact protection. Obviously wearing them in the heat of the summer is hotter than not wearing pads at all, but they do breathe very well. Been wearing them for a month, riding 40-50mi per week avg, and I've gotten so used to wearing them, they're just another piece of gear I put on before each ride. My motivation for padding up was seeing the aftermath of a riding buddy go down and tear his arm up resulting in 5 internal stitches and 11 external stitches. Some pads would have prevented that doctor visit.Breathability is great. The side opposite the pad is a full sleeve (instead of straps above/below the joint), but the material flexes very nicely and does not bunch up. The only time they slip is when they get really sweaty. And even then the slippage is minor, and only occurs over really rough terrain. The neoprene grippers inside hold well against the skin. Cinch straps help keep in place. Nice range of movement.**I also bought the matching elbow pads. Rating and review are the same.**

I also did not like the material pinching behind my knee
I could not decide between the med or small in this product. I think I would have gone with the med...if I had kept them. They are very substantial and felt bulky. Ultimately I was looking for a lower profile knee pad that I could wear all day. I also did not like the material pinching behind my knee. I have ordered the Dianese Trail skins as they have no material behind the knee. The other pair I am considering are the G Force, low profile. For reference I am 5'7" 132 pounds.

These are my first set of knee pads for biking but recently put them through the wringer during a long weekend at Moab. Initially I was getting some rubbing/sores over my hamstring tendon. I believe this was from having the Velcro strap too tight because I loosened them all the way the next day and they felt great. They also stayed perfectly in place while having the strap as loose as possible! I wouldn't say that I "forgot they were there" but they definitely did not inhibit me. These are on the thinner side of pads and appropriate for XC/trail. They would probably prevent any "skin donation" in the event of a crash but if you are looking for DH protection I'd recommend something else. I am approximately 5' 11" and 155 lb with athletic/muscular thighs (but not weight lifter status) and the medium fit well.

comodissime
ginocchiere davvero ben. fatte, calzano molto bene e non si muovono neanche con l'elastico allentato. Non fanno l'effetto ginicchione ma proteggono comunque bene (se è stato ti utile il mio commento clicca sul pulsante, grazie ;-)

Stay in place and don't get in the way
They're lightweight, but feel like I'm protected -- I definitely throw myself into the downhills with more confidence with the pads on.They stay in place and don't obstruct my pedalling.XC, Trail mountain bike / bikejoring in the Cheviot Hills

I have resisted buying these as I have found them quite restricting in the past. However after a few offs and reading the reviews I decided to try these. I have to say they are brilliant. I got used to them almost straight away and it's true, you hardly notice they are there. They have also saved me a couple of times. Also although it says to clean them just wipe with damp cloth, I have put them in the washing machine with my other gear and they come out perfect. Definitely recommended.

If you regularly fall off... you knee'd these!
I purchased these in a Size M initially which was too small, order returned and L sent as a replacement, Thanks. They do not slip down, and the Velcro strap is adjustable, they are comfortable enough and do the job. They are knee pads and they pad your knee with stiff foam inserts. No real restriction when riding but can feel sweat on the back of the knee on occasions, this is not an issue considering what you might feel on your knee if you crashed without the pads! They also provide nice protection when repairing the bike on the trails too!

Great knee pads
Excellent knee pads really comfy and don’t slip down thanks to the new grip strip, they are a slightly tighter fit than the old VPD 3 pads so a larger size might be better.
