but I always like to have a loaded standard bar lying around my ...
I do the majority of my barbell work with olympic and specialty bars, but I always like to have a loaded standard bar lying around my gym, for use in circuits or complexes. I have tried every kind of clamp compatible with standard bars, but find that the end result is always the same...the clamps eventually become loose and the weights move around too much. I purchased a set of the 2 inch clamps for use on an axle bar and have been very satisfied with them, so I figured for $8.99 it is worth a try. To date, the 1 inch version has not disappointed. The clamps stay tight to the bar, keeping the plates in place rep after rep. This saves me time and gives me peace of mind while training. I believe that my good old standard bar will be getting more use now because of these clamps. Thanks for a solid, reasonably priced and effective product.***Update...after several months of use, these clamps have not held up well at all (weights slide all over the place). These clamps, along with my standard bars will be going back into the corner of my garage gym. I would change to a 3 start review, because I did get some use out of them. I will be transitioning to all olympic size barbells/collars.***

Perfect in every way
These are great. They fit over my 1" bar, click closed nicely, and hold tight. They also do nicely on my spin-lock dumbbells.I love those, but the spin thing gets tiresome. The 'dreampark dumbbell clamp' is way better. On and off in a jiffy.I don't know what the fella who almost broke his nose is talking about...maybe he misused or somehow got a factory 2nd or one that had been stored at the wrong temperature? Who knows.I feel for him, but it also seems that he's the only one with a complaint. These have two small little cushions that compress when you close the item.Keeps things secure.I put the clamps on, tugged, would not budge.I foresee no problem whatsoever doing hammer curls with these.Should I check these periodically ? I will.I'll tug on them every 3-6 months to see if anything is wearing out.but I suspect these will last for a few years as a starting point.5 stars! They worked perfectly; I ordered a 2nd set the same day I got them.BTW I ordered a different, better selling, cheaper set...closed too small to work on my 1" bar; had to return those.I'm glad to have found these.

Best collars I've ever owned!
These clamp collars are for 1-inch standard barbells, not 2-inch Olympic barbells.I've tried four different types of barbell collars: cast iron collars, spring collars , threaded bars with spinlock collars, and these LockJaw-style clamp collars. Of the four, these clamp collars are the best.I've never liked cast iron collars because they make it slow to change plates. Also, if they are even slightly loose, they may slip off. Long ago I replaced all my cast iron collars with spring collars, which made it much quicker and easier to change plates. However, even spring collars feel somewhat awkward to use.I have two pairs of threaded dumbbells with spinlock collars. These are great except they can come slightly loose in the middle of a set, causing the plates to spin. This is not a safety issue, but it is annoying. My newer pair of spinlock dumbbells have rubber washers on the collars, which greatly reduces the tendency to spin loose. As long as I tighten them before each set, they don't give me any problems.I just tried these clamp collars and they are the best collars so far. They hold well and make it extremely quick and easy to change plates. They fit all my standard 1-inch bars, including my solid metal barbell, my hollow chrome triceps bar, and even my threaded dumbbells. I highly recommend them. Since they are new, I don't know how durable they are over the long-run, though.

So far, so good.
I'm rather inexperienced with using dumbells so I don't have enough experience with clamps to compare this to others. I can however compare this to the twist nuts that came with the dumbells. This saves me precious time in between workouts (switching weights from one workout to another). Unscrewing the nuts, changing the weights and screwing the nuts back on took enough time where I felt my heart rate drop. These allow me to change weights quick enough where I don't notice any drop in heart rate and can quickly get back into the next workout. For all of this, I rate it 4 stars. I reduced one star because these locking clamps hold on to the threading with a rubber cushion on the inside. The threading on my dumbbells have naturally created indents in the rubber and the weights don't lock in as tight as the original nuts would. The weights wobble slightly sometimes which I have to then readjust the clamps to get a tighter fit. I don't know if it's a problem but I'll update this if a weight falls off and breaks a toe.

BUY THESE BARBELL CLAMPS - YOU WILL LOVE THEM
These clamps are the best workout tool I have purchased in years. I will never use spring clamps again! I am almost 60 years old and it isincreasingly difficult to use traditional spring clamps on my barbell. Opening the spring, sliding it down the bar, too difficult and timeconsuming when I am trying to keep up with a workout. These clamps are the answer. They are easy to load on the bar and slide into placeand very easy to close and lock into place. I am going to order more as soon as I finish typing this review. I wish these were availableat my local YMCA. Excellent product.

DO NOT BUY. Comes loose and weights fall off!
After one use the clamps started to slide off of the weights. I was able to catch it before it came completely off.Update 10/14/2020 we changed our review to 1 star, but it deserves zero. yesterday the clamp came lose again and the weights fell off the bar. They barely missed hitting my husband’s foot and they damaged my floor. This is a MaJOR safety issue DO NOT BUY THESE. We returned them to Amazon with a note about the problem. I also called Amazon directly to make sure they were aware and passed my information on. If you are reading this review- that means this product is still on the site, which is unacceptable. The customer service rep was very nice, but I will only be satisfied if this is pulled off the site.

Tight, Durable, Satisfied
The media could not be loaded. It works great, and does what it's supposed to Do. It holds the weights in place with ease, I haven't done any extreme limits teasting, but it hold in place with a lot of weights level. I bought this for my squat/benching bar, so I don't plan on holding heavy weights with it in a vertical position. They hold very well and do not slide or wiggle loose.I recommend this product, but like I said, I've kept it on horizontal bars, I got the Black ones, they clamp down easily and stay nice and tight, they only release when you want them to. And to release them is easily done as well, but only when you want them to open up. The inner rubber piece grips the bar very good with no sliding at all.Great Buy, I use it on my 7 foot CAP benching bar with no threads and it grips nice and tight

Excellent - Easy to use
Liked everything about the clamps. Easy to use. Didn’t have to wrestle like I do with the spring style clamps. Quick to add and remove weights as we have multiple users lifting at different limits. Switching out all the spring style for these clamps now.

Way easier than the old wrench clamps
These work really well for 1 inch bars. They lock tightly into place. Saves you alot of time as no wrench is needed to tighten and loosen. Might be a little overpriced. I should of did my research as I found them much cheaper at another retailer. But, Amazon ships them to you quick.

Game changer- save so much time!
Exactly what I was looking for- I have a spin lock barbell, 1” diameter. It has been a pain changing weight plates with the spin locks, spending so much time spinning the plate locks. These barbell clamps fit perfect, sliding easily over the spin ridges on the bar and clamp the weight plates about 95-98%tight. Sometimes need to tighten a bit but not often. Saves so much time in a workout when needing to change weights often. I workout 5X a week so the clamps get good use. Loved them so much I bought an extra set for an adjustable dumbbell bar and another set as a gift. Perfect for my workouts.

They keep the weights on the bar....
...but don't fit "perfectly". Good enough, bit sloppy but cheap. Work well for 1" bar with moderate weight. If these were to be used on a 2" bar with heavy weights I would NOT use these based on quality.. Just to give you an idea of the quality.
