Very good for the low price
I watched a review on YouTube of this exact item and a Welch Allyn brand usd by doctors and hospitals. The review/comparison was by an ER Dr. who wanted a pocket otoscope to carry with him in his pocket. It was a thorough review and when all was said and done the $22 otoscope came out on top. It is very bright and you can use other brands of disposable tips. Great for home use.

GREAT PORTABLE OTOSCOPE FOR ER
Good price for a very good product. Fiber optic - great for use in the ER - light and portable. Also good quality.. $22 is 1/10 the cost of the Welch allyn product and great for keeping in your shirt pocket while seeing kids in the hallway.. worth every penny. Just bought another one. The Welch allyn fiber optic led version is the same quality as this one and 10x the price. Thumbs up from an ER MD

Works great! I bought this to replace a Dr
Works great! I bought this to replace a Dr. Mom otoscope that really didn't give a good view of the tympanic membrane (ear drum). I bought it to use at home to check my kids and neighbor's kids ears. The view is so great, I have started carrying it with me to work because the otoscopes at work are frequently burned out, missing or have been dropped so many times that the lens is displaced. It is much smaller than my Welch-Allyn and fits better in my pocket. It won't replace a Welch-Allyn if you're shopping for medical school, but if you want an otoscope to use at home for family, the view of the ear drum is clear and bright.

A matchstick works better
Someone in QC fell asleep during this production run. Out of the box it would light up (weakly) but each use after the switch began to loosen on the little aluminum track, ultimately resulting in the bearings falling out. In order to replace I took the device apart and managed to piece it back together. After another use or two the thing was toast. Granted, you get what you pay for and this was a relatively cheap device. Compared to my Welch Allyn, this device is equivalent to taping a rock to a stick. Good budget concept with poor quality control. You might get a good one, but I did not.

Poor quality lens not clear, useless
The light is very bright, maybe a little too bright. Can't see anything clearly which make it pretty useless. Gave it to my kids to use as a toy.

Compact and comes with case, works great
Great product. The case keeps everything together and neat. Perfect for home use. Would recommend

Does the job
I'm a nurse in long term care. I did not want to spend the money for a Welch Allen. We have one but it is a mess. This is great and does the job.

Cheap, breaks with gentle use
It worked well for a few uses, but now it has some circuitry problem. It will only turn on when the spring of the battery compartment is in contact with the wall of the battery compartment, so the battery cap has to be unscrewed, held at just the right angle, and I have no hands left to manipulate the ear. Cheap buy, but you get what you pay for!
