Phillips 202 Didymium Glass Working Spectacles in Over Eyewear Plastic Safety Frame

Just used these this week during a 6-day blacksmithing class using a coal forge. The glasses worked great at keeping the cinders and other flying debris off my prescription glasses and out of my eyes. The also were dark enough to allow me to monitor the steel (A36) heating with borax flux (which gives some sodium flare) when prepping to forge weld. They were not so dark that I couldn't see well inside the forge building. I plan to buy a few extras to have for visitors when I set up my own blacksmith shop.

So hooray! These came in time for my next flameworking lab as a replacement. Very nice.Funny story...in addition to shipping the glasses, it came with complementary 'neon red' lipstick. Hilarious!

If you are planning on wearing these over your prescription glasses, they may not work for that purpose. Some places you see these advertised as great for wearing over existing glasses, but they didn't work that way for me. The seller did, however, offer to take them back if still in new condition. They do seem to be a well manufactured product - no problem there.

Thsee fit over my rx glasses and provide a very clear view while lampworking & are comfortable, not pressing on my skull behind my ears like some.

This product met my expectations. They do a good job of reducing sodium flare.
