A Nice Distraction
Prince of Persia: The Fallen King is a side-scrolling action/platformer. The game is entirely controlled through use of the touch screen. When I first heard about the game I was intrigued because I've never been a fan of Prince of Persia but I do enjoy DS games which are completely controlled through use of the touch screen (i.e. Phantom Hourglass) for I appreciate innovation. The story is completely forgettable, even while you play the game, you completely forget about it and mainly focus on the great level design. Throughout the levels are scrolls which describe locations and try to hint at plot points in the story, but they are absolutely superfluous. The game is obviously directed at a younger audience but that doesn't mean they had to skimp on the story. The level design is the highlight of this game and it does become challenging as you continue through locations. The touch screen controls are simple, easy to use, and not too sensitive. Though I must admit that the game has many glitches and this hinders the fun factor. I just wish they had tested the game a bit more, so they could have fixed the bugs before release. These glitches are significant but won't stop you from finishing the game. Now while the difficulty of the levels increases as you continue, the boss battles sadly do not. In my opinion, the very first boss battle was probably the most challenging of all, including the final one. The bosses take a minute or two to figure out, but another annoying thing I found was that you cannot die in a boss fight for when your health is diminished, you're rewarded with full health which destroys any difficulty whatsoever. The game itself in graphics is merely satisfactory though I did enjoy the backgrounds in certain levels. The music is absolutely atrocious and mind-numbingly monotonous. There were times when I found myself lowering the volume to zero to escape the repetitive nature of the score. After finishing the game, which only took a week, I played through it again while I waited for another game that I pre-ordered (Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride), and found the play through mildly amusing and fun, though there isn't anything new to be found. It's just fun to whizz through each level like a master. I recommend this only to casual gamers of the younger age groups. The game does not hold enough gameplay depth or serious plot to hold the attention of a more experienced gamer. It was merely a nice distraction while it lasted.

It's ok
I'm a fan of Prince of Persia and this game did not meet my expectations. Maybe because it was made for the DS? The graphics are child-like and so is the story! Not like the Prince of Persia I know at all. I have the Two Thrones for PS2 and that game is great complete with blood and Dark Prince and combos and not to mention great graphics for a PS2 game! This game on the other hand...is for children. under the age of 4 if even that.

Starts out fun...
When I first got this game, it was hard to put it down. The puzzles were challenging at the beginning, and I found it to be a lot of fun. But as soon as I got past level 3, it was hard to get the will to even play it.There's technically a storyline... but not really. The beginning has somewhat of an explanation for why you have to do whatever you're doing, but not really. The end... ugh. It was a real let-down, and very much absolute schlock.Graphically, the game isn't bad - after all, this is a hand-held device. It strongly reminded me of Zelda: Windwaker or Phantom Hourglass. There are shinies where you touch the screen (yes, it is complete touch-screen). However, I wouldn't mind being able to use the controls as well because seriously - seriously - this game is so buggy. You'll find yourself trying to jump on a platform.. and for whatever the reason.. your character keeps running and you die. Or you try to jump up on a ledge, and your character runs into it. I wouldn't mind having a designated button for run and jump, with the choice of touchscreen or b00tanz.All in all, it's a let-down from the PoP series. It starts out really fun, but in the end, its one I probably will be selling off.

Prince of Persia review
The game is overall fun...but there are some elements to it that dont quite feel like theyre complete or there yet. platforming could be fun...for awhile. the puzzles feel way too simple... but the visuals are nice. i had some issues with it...but overall its not bad.

Great simple game
Always been a fan for the Prince of Persia (has all the game now), and I really like to play at this game, it's calm unlike the others! (but still really love the others too!) Recommend this to anyone who like the series.
