Always good to buy the best
You know, you never complain when you get the best. These are perfect for screenplays. They are substantial and they won't slip through the 3-punched holes. Go with the best and never regret it.

The professional screenwriter's choice
Acco Solid Brass Fasteners 1 1/4 can bind about 150 pages. No matter if you're amateur or professional, Acco Fasteners will make you happy. I promise! If you're not a screenwriter, you should know that there's prolly no better feeling in life than holding your completed, well formatted and properly bound, self-written script in hands. And best of all, U.S. agents and producers will also be satisfied with you. Well, if not with your story, then at least with your sense for aesthetics. ;-)

Why these are better than cheap supply store ones...
Having purchased some generic brass fasteners (which were not what I'd consider cheap price wise) from OfficeMax, I was worried that perhaps these would be a similar inadequate product. Not so. These Acco are indeed a quality product. They feature a better quality of brass, not so thin as to be fragile, and with a significantly larger head that truly secures the paper without receding into the punched holes. It doesn't surprise me these are considered industry standard for screenplays. Are there other brands as good? Maybe... but these do the job and aren't too pricey. One can only hope the manufacturer doesn't start to skimp, as whoever makes the OfficeMax ones seems to have done. Those are useless, these are great. Maybe get yourself a few boxes just in case. Also the slightly shorter legs leave less excess once you bend them out, without being too short.

All fasteners are not alike
Looking to properly present a script or screenplay? These are far superior in quality to a popular office supply store brand as the heads are larger and they are much more sturdier in which to hold your manuscript together. These 1.25 inch brass fasteners are perfect for 80-110 page stacks of paper.

Terrible shipping
They're brass fasteners. And they work. But they were shipped poorly, in a too-thin Amazon-box that in no way protected the red & white box in the picture. That box had broken open and the postman even thought that the contents were broken and should be returned unopened.Plus, Amazon hasn't replied to my critique of the shipping (which they solicited). You're better-off buying from somewhere else than Amazon. Unless of course you WANT to store your brass fasteners in one of Amazon's too-large too-thin cardboard boxes.

I echo what others have said... but also...
No problems with the brads themselves which is why I gave a solid 5-stars. Why send out your latest masterpiece using cheapo alternatives? This is THE brad you need to trust. Expensive, yes, but worth it. However, like some others have noted, ACCO needs to take a little more care with packaging/shipping to Amazon. Out of the 10 boxes I'd ordered recently, two boxes had to be shipped back to ACCO from Amazon because of apparent damage. Oddly, out of the remaining eight orders that I did get, six were "repackaged" in separate envelopes along with the original packaging -- a horribly deformed ACCO box. It kinda makes me wonder how bad the missed shipments were, if the one's I did get had to be repackaged (basically an Amazon padded envelope full of loose fasteners and one crushed box). lol.
