Great charcoal! Burns very hot and lasts a long time!
Each bag will last me a couple months of consistent grilling. I love charcoal and this particular brand will burn nice and hot and lasts long enough for you to grill for a family gathering. Easy lighting and great value! Would highly recommend.

Great Charcoal
For my entirely life until recently I've used Kingsford or whatever. You know, the charcoal briquettes. The extremely uniform puck things. But here's thing thing about charcoal: it's made from cooking wood. Real charcoal is chunks of small logs and large branches. Watch the Primitive Technology videos on YouTube and see what the real stuff looks like.Anyway, THIS is real charcoal. You can tell it's made from cooking actual wood (see below). Burning it smells profoundly different and better than Kingsford and the other formed briquette stuff. Better flavor. In my experience there's not much difference in temperature. Buy this and you won't regret it.Minor nitpick: the "medium pieces" claim on the bag is, uh, not true. Sure, there are many medium pieces. But there are also many sections of whole thick tree branches in there too. Some pieces don't even fit in my chimney. The grading is simply very inconsistent. This can be fixed by smashing the big pieces with a hammer (use the claw side to help split the wood) over a sheet of something hard like an old baking tray. Smash your own charcoal. Annoying and messy, but not the worst.

Better than most
I’ve used maybe a score of charcoal brands and this stands out. There is some flavor but it’s not aggressive; it lights fast without a lot of smoke; it burns hot and even, and it has produced some of the best direct-heat results I’ve experienced. The sizes are very variable with a lot of smaller bits, less suited to real bbq but excellent for general grilling. (I believe they have a product that’s supposed to select for bigger bits.)

Best Charcol Made
I use Fogo exclusively on my Big Green Egg. It burns much longer than some of the generic brands when doing briskets, and is capable of burning very hot (think searing a steak at 700+ degrees) when you need it too, making it very versatile.

Good stuff but...
Truly good stuff, some nice big pieces that burn slow and steady but, also a lot of practically...dust and super small pieces that I can't use at all. Probably at least 2 to 3 pounds worth. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the waste.

Great taste, bit uninform in size
The taste they provide is the best I've experienced, I will definitely be purchasing additional bags. They prep quick too, leaving you ready to get grilling in no time. However, there is a huge variation in size between pieces, leaving many to fall through the grates while the bigger pieces barely get started before the grilling is done, meaning in effect only a portion of the bag is truly used.

The best charcoal!
FOGO is great for grilling Pichana and all your meats. It is just the right size and burns evenly. No chemicals or accelerants, just pure charcoal. I use a propane hand held starter to ignite it. No charcoal starter. It is also a great value compared to other brands. You will love it.
