Amoretti Premium Syrup, Anise, 25.4 Ounce

If you like licorice you need this Amoretti. I give a couple of squirts into a glass of cold water for a refreshing drink. And a non-fattening, non-caffeine drink. This is a really great product for licorice overs.

I actually bought a bottle and took it down to the local coffee house. I love savory flavors like licorice, and they used to have a drink called the black cat (anise and white chocolate latte). Dark star anise has enough of a similar taste to bring back a favorite. They love the idea and it's basically my own personal drink. As a note, this stuff is very thick - almost like honey. It's also very strong - you don't need much. For a single cup, a 1/2 tsp is sufficient for the licorice-like flavor to really shine through.

If you like a shot of anisette in your coffee, but have issues getting into the office half toasted, this is a fine alternative. I just wish they made a sugar-free version, as my mid-section really doesn't need all of those simple carbs. Good stuff.

I use the Amoretti Premium Syrup, Anise flavor in my Chinese cooking. It really enhances the flavor of many of my sauces I make. This particular size bottle 25.4 ounce is very economical for the amount of sauces I make. I recommend this size bottle if you do a lot of different ethnic and gourmet cooking.

I loved it. It took me years to find an Anise flavored syrup. I took it to my local espresso shop and have my Anise mocha's when ever I want.
