Works well for powering a 5V microcontroller from a 45V DC supply .
I bought this because I have a project involving a 45V high power LED array controlled (via MOSFETs) by an Arduino Nano microcontroller, which needs a 5V supply. I wanted to use a single power supply and most 5V_out buck convertors out there seem limited to 36V_in so this fitted the bill.With a 45V DC input I get 5.13V_out open circuit dropping to 5.06V with a 50 ohm load (ie 100mA output) so it's good for this sort of application.
