Green Belt KenKen® (Martial Arts Puzzles Series)

Nephew like his gift -- read below
This book is essentialy level 2 of 4 in the Martial Arts KenKen series and the puzzles are slightly larger and more difficult than in the White Belt book, but that should be expected since it is labelled "not-so-easy" on the start of the book. It starts off with several 5x5 puzzles which are somewhat tricky to solve, but they are still easily solved. It goes up to 6x6 and these are actually moderately challenging. The 6x6 are generally the standard size for most KenKen puzzle options, so this is a great book since it has plenty of 6x6 puzzles. Once you finish the 6x6 section, there is a very small handful of 7x7 puzzles, probably because 7x7 puzzles alter the dynamic of multiplication and division parts to be slightly easier. I don't know, but of the whole puzzle series in general, the 7x7 size is the least covered size. It's even less than the 4x4 from the White Belt book. The conclusion is you should get this one too if you like KenKen. I finished this one just a few days after I started it right after finishing the White Belt book.

Love KenKen
This is the second in the series by Miyamoto in KenKen. I like his puzzles and I like the way the book is laid out. I wish that the puzzles would progress a little more slowly or that there would be more of each level so that I get more practice before moving on to the next level. This is a problem with all of these books and this series is better than the others I've tried. Will Shortz books assume you're a wiz after just a few puzzles. I've been doing Sudoku for years and love the new challenge of KenKen. Hopefully there will be more choices soon so that I can build up my skills.

The whole series is great and it's progressive
I've been slowly working my way through the this series and am now on the "black belt" edition. I don't allow myself to write in the candidates so I got this edition as "candy" when I don't want to sit staring at a black belt page for long periods of time. The whole series is great and it's progressive. If you've reached "black belt" this might be too easy. But it's a good book for beginners to intermediate and helps move you along the way to the higher elevations.

Seems Like a Good Deal
Had trouble deciding which book to get so got this on the basis off lowest cost/puzzle. Was a bit worried that the 5x5 would be too easy......had previously done only 4x4 and 6x6 but was surprised. The first one took 5 min, second 10min, third 20min.....the 5th/6th are yet unsolved. Was a bit worried by the trend but then 7th/8th were reasonably solved so looks at this point a nice mix of difficulty levels. A bit early to tell but seems like a good deal........certainly better than having to copy off the computer.

Fun and approach
I am an occasional KenKen player. Mostly do Sudoku. This collection was challenging enough to keep me interested and helped me learn the strategy. I am a great deal more successful now

Good selection of puzzles -- 60 5X5, 180 6X6, and 30 7X7. Challenging, but not too difficult.

Love it!
Perfect difficulty for me, and fantastic that the difficulty actually increases throughout the book when I feel I'm ready for another box. Five stars!

Excellent for KenKen fans
Not many good KenKen books around. This series is great and the Green Belt is ideal if you want to be challenged but don't feel inclined (or able) to tackle the 8x8s or 9x9s.

Recht unterhaltsam
