Quite simply the best bit of kit you'll get for the money.
This is quite simply the best effects unit you are going to get for your $90. Period. Just the effects combos alone are worth several times that. Add the amp and cab models, and you've got something special. But even more than that, you also get a sweet drum machine. And then there is the phrase looper, which is just awesome! You can't get a DEDICATED phrase looper for less than $180!!! And to top it all off, you can go direct to your computer via USB to record, and also to edit the presets. This computer-based editing of the presets is the way to go. It's way easier to edit them via the software interface than by twiddling the knobs on the unit itself. You can really try out a lot of combos, and dial in the sound you are after pretty easily. You'll have to get your own USB cord though, the kind you'd use for a printer with one standard USB plug and one of those narrow-style USB plugs. I think they could have included one, but I'm not complaining. Oh, and how could I forget that this thing has true STEREO out. You can run it out to two amps, and really take advantage of the stereo effects like the panner and the ping pong delay. It has a nice headphone out that you can use as a personal earphone monitor too. That's a cool feature. I'm using this for harmonica, and I can dial in a range of great amped tones and add effects as I please. I love the octave down and the leslie/vibrato/chorus simulators. Great organ tones there. I also love the wide range of delays and reverbs. There are so many great tones there to be had. Plus the thing has the ability to bypass all the amp and cab sims and just use the effects, so if you have an amp with good harp tone (ie. Like my Epiphone Vlave Junior that I modded for harps), this little pedal can be used in front just to add any/all effects you like. You'll only need this ONE pedal instead of e very expensive (and heavy) pedalboard full of individual effects. And you'll be able to dial in way more various effects combos than you could with that discreet pedal board. This is simply the best bang for your buck. Period.UPDATE: While I still think this is a good bit of kit, I must admit that I eventually outgrew its limitations, and sold it on. I now use a Zoom G3, which IMO is a MUCH superior product. The interface is more intuitive for live performance, you can easily turn individual effects on and off on the fly, the looper is better, and you can use the loop and the drum machine at the same time. The USB interface works just as well as the RP. For your money, I would now recommend that pedal over this one.

Love it!
I wanted to upgrade my old practice amp and few pedals to something with better sound. First I tried a Peavey Vypyr 15 based on good reviews from another site. It was awful and is going back. So I was looking at getting a better distortion pedal and decided to try this instead. I'm glad I did because this thing is awesome! It has a seemingly endless amount of adjustments to play with and so far the presets sound great on my old amp. If that wasn't more than enough, you can also hook it to your computer via USB and record direct. So far I'm happy with the sound quality there too. It works fine with Audacity (a free multi-track recording program) once you get the settings right in Audacity and adjust the USB record level on the RP155. The tuner seems to be just as good as any of my other tuners, and you can output straight to headphones without even using an amp. So it could make a fantastic headphone amp for traveling etc. I only just got it but this may be the best music gear purchase I've ever made. I almost wish I would have got the RP255 with expression pedal but I probably wouldn't use that much anyway and it would be a little less portable. Anyway, this thing is amazing for what it costs.

Great Product, great price!
Love it! I use it for my Taylor (acoustic), and this can make it sound just like a gibson sg I use to own crunching through an all tube half stack! The looping is the main reason I bought it. The drums are great. Lots of effects from one single coil humbucker or two, to different amps, to of course different tones, most modeled after well known sounds, and more!! Nothing useless. ...It really is too bad that you can't play drums while looping. I would think it wouldn't be hard to make that happen, and it would make this the best effects processor out there for the price. Still, definitely recommend!!!

For the price - unbeatable
Disclaimer: I'm a new guitarist. This is not as good as a 65' Twin with a vintage TS808. It's not as good a a tube amp with a $200 chorus pedal. This is a multi-effects pedal that is ideal for beginners to experiment with various sounds. My four stars are based on the following:1) Value - under $100. Enough said.2) Features - some of the single features are worth the price of admission (chromatic tuner, drum machine, looper).3) Portable, easy to use, headphone use is just as good as amp use and it all connects to a computer with ease.4) Features...again - some of the amp models are great - some not so much. The same can be said of the various stompboxes and effects. But if you don't have 50 pedals and are new to the game, this is perfect for tinkering with all sorts of sounds to see what you like.If this was more expensive, I'd probably be more harsh, but it's cheap. Really cheap. Some of the distortion pedals are weak and the noise gate crushes the sustain (hence 4 stars). And if you do pull the trigger - don't lose the manual - the LCD screen uses hieroglyphics for the editing process. Also to be noted. I own a couple modeling amps and find that the effects are better in some cases and worse in others. The drum loops, compressor, chorus and reverb are better than those offered in the Vox VT40+ or Fender Mustang.

All the effects sounds like they have reverb and they aren't any good plain ...
I have the same version of this pedal only difference is I got it when I was 12... Almost 2 decades later I broke it so I had high expectations for this one... All the effects sounds like they have reverb and they aren't any good plain distortion presets the looper is cool if you can figure it out.. I just use it for the drum beats now on a different amp and use other pedals for effects.. And I know you can alter each effect but its alot of knobs and technical difficulty so if you just want to shred little before you go back to work on your lunch break... Probably gonna be late trying to get the right effect for the moment

DigiTech-Marotte: es gibt mal wieder keinen On/Off Schalter. Naja, es gibt schlimmeres. Trotzdem 5 Sterne, es ist einfach ein tolles Gerät! Empfehlung!

Amazing price for an amazing little box!
Inside the sturdy metal casing of the Digitech RP155 is an AudioDNA2 processor chip which helps this box create 83 different Amps/Cabinets, Stompboxes and Effects; All sounding high quality.I have an ESP Ltd EC-50 guitar and 10W practice amp, if I turn on some multi chorus and tape delay with lexicon hall reverb it makes my substandard amp and £200 guitar sound like they are both worth much more! It has so many different styles packed into one that whether you're into death metal, blues or country this multi processor will be for you. It doesn't have the addition of the tremelo foot pedal like the RP255 but it makes little difference. It makes me want to play guitar much more! You don't need to have a load of pedals and patch cables sprawled out in front of you.To summarize it has:- 23 Amps/acoustic types- 12 Cabinet types- 30 Tones and 30 Effects libraries- 100 presets (50 factory 50 user)- Lexicon reverbs- A 20 second looper- 60 quality drum patterns from it's built in drum machine- 5 seconds of delay- Built in chromatic tuner- 2xUSB ports for many more features and editing on the PC like the X-Edit softwareAnd on a final note that should put everything into perspective. You can buy a single effects pedal called a Digitech Delay, this costs more than this multi processor at £84 and only has 4 seconds delay. This box is just £75 and comes with a handful of 5 second delay pedals built in...

a guitarist re-born
I have just dug out my guitar from the loft after 20 years and used the same old practice amp...and it sounds just as dull as 20 years ago. In part this may be technique but I thought I would liven things up, having read review of the 155. I am nowhere near using all of the settings but I am utterly amazed. The effects make me sound far better than I thought I was, certainly the combination of distortion and sustain makes my style sound more fluid and more like a real guitarist. Have just tumbled to the fact that players of 20 years ago were probably using effects pedals or amps with sound variations which make them sound good and I wasn't...not that I'm over-egging my capability, I am a rank amateur but now a very excited one who can't wait to practice more. You can sound more like Gilmore or Satriani (or whatever your tastes are) than you would believe possible and all for under £80 quid...amazing...and the nice thing is the family aren't troubled by my crappy old amp spoiling their peace...I just use the headphone jack. I've yet to try it through the amp. Couple of obvious things...get an extra guitar lead for between pedal and amp, and if you want to share your sounds on headphones get a two or three way splitter cable and you may need a headphone extension cable if your phones don't have a 3.5 or 5 metre lead (choose the latter for more flexibility) Haven't tried any of the interfaces such as USB to PC...will let you know.
