These were very effective for us - recommended
We thought we had moles, turns out we had voles. Really didn't want to use lethal traps, so based on the previous reviews, we invested in this humane trap.Four traps were included in one box, and it comes with clear instructions. We baited them with peanut butter - as recommended - and over the space of two nights, caught four voles which were released into the countryside away from our garden. I scraped the small blob of peanut butter out of the trap, and left it on the ground where I released the voles - I thought it might give them a bit of a boost as they settled into their new neighbourhood. The first two voles looked completely knackered, having presumably been scrabbling overnight, trying to escape. I made sure I checked the traps containing the second two critters a bit earlier the next morning and they looked a lot perkier - one of them leaping, acrobatically, from the trap, once the door was slid open.I hosed off each trap and they will be ready tonight (overnight seems best) to relocate the remaining voles.Thoroughly recommended and I felt better for not having to resort to lethal measures.- Use overnight and check the traps promptly in the morning- Peanut butter seems to be very effective at attracting things, including me

Very effective and humane, perfect.
I bought these to catch a mouse my cat had brought in alive and released in the kitchen. So far we've caught the door mouse she brought in and a further 5 field mice in 2 days. Between these and peanut butter it's like moths to a flame. As a result of these being so effective I've ordered air brick mousemesh covers, to stop the field mice getting in under our suspended ground floor. I can only assume that's how they get in.I only thought we'd trap one mouse... The first door mouse. The 5 field mice are an enormous surprise. The door mouse got it's tail cut a little in the door, when it popped closed, but the field mice were all unharmed. All mice relocated to a hedge by a field several hundred yards away...I'll keep trapping until the air brick mousemesh guards are fitted and we stop catching mice...

Do the job but not tough enough!
I have had great success with these traps for the last few weeks until the baby wood mice decided to make a break for freedom. Over a few nights, they have managed to almost gnaw an escape route (as per the photo). Whilst impressed with their amazing tenacity, I am not sure they should have broken through so easily!

Catches on mouse tail
In theory these items are excellent and reliable. Easy to work, clean and very handy. However, I purchased these as they are humane and did not wish to harm the mice in any way. But I would recommend looking at other items, which are specifically longer made if they exist. These have caught the mouse perfectly however due to the length of the mouse tail it often gets trapped or caught in the door which causes them distress until released. Consider with caution.

Fantastic and humane!
We cleaned out our wood shed a couple of days ago and we must have disturbed this little cutey (we have had field mice in the wood shed for a while). He made his way into the house so we bought these humane traps. They arrived sooner than anticipated and we put them out last night, caught him first time. He had a big breakfast of nuts and seeds and we took him a couple of miles up the road and released him in some fields. He scuttled off to carry on his life. Humane, efficient and mouse was calm. Very happy with my purchase.

3 minute catch
Around 7:30pm I set my first trap, I used sunpatt peanut butter for my bait just a little bit on the bottom of the back side. As I was setting my second trap I heard my first go off and I thought "No way". I had caught my first mouse instantly. I hope it is the only one but I will definitely keep the other 3 around just in case.
