Ossur - A Miracle Machine
The Ossur Cold Rush Therapy Machine arrived not only intact but timely. My wife had a full knee replacement and was in need of cold therapy to reduce swelling. Unfortunately, the cold ice box (Breg Polar Box) we had stopped working. It was superb machine for when I had a full knee replacement two years ago. With my experience I learned that pain comes from swelling; no swelling = no pain. Sadly, my wife was in painful despair. I wanted to order another Breg, but the price was just too high. Some retailers had it for over $200. Breg is an excellent machine but just too pricey for us. So, I started my Amazon research. As anyone who has had painful surgery recovery, you know you want the best medical devices that are affordable. I did not want a cheap imitation from some offshore eastern company. My research led me to Ossur. I went to their site. I found the Ossur is Swedish, and it manufactures prosthetics and orthopedics, including cold therapy. I decided on the Cold Rush Compact for about $150. The machine arrived on April 2, as scheduled. The machine has proven to be a lifesaver. From excruciation pain to virtually no pain with this machine. I can't thank the seller enough for the timely delivery. The machine has a quality feel with no cheap plastic smell. It is quiet and does the job. Thank you Amazon, seller, and Ossur. The Breg box only lasted through my rehab, about two months (but it was on 12-14 hrs a day). I believe the Ossur will do just as well, if not better. Two tips:1) I Use 4 small frozen water bottles as ice and fill with water just above the water line.2) I use a long bandage to wrap around the pad to keep the cold therapy air from escaping.I can't thank seller enough for a timely delivery.

They did their best. This review is NOT directed at Complete Medical ...
Please note that many of the vendors of this product are NOT the manufacturer (Ossur). When my unit didn't work, the people at Complete Medical Care did try to help me. They did their best. This review is NOT directed at Complete Medical but at Ossur itself. I wrote the following letter and explained how i got the unit to work. Maybe it will help someone else. Ossur certainly won't.Hello, I purchased an Ossur Cold Rush system. It worked intermittently and then it stopped right after my wife came home from shoulder surgery. I called and spoke to a woman who answered the call at around 2 pm PST on Friay Aug 7.(I give you that time to try to identify who it was) I believe that you should assist her in being a bit more empathetic to customers and also you should provide her a better response than "take it back to the doctor where you bought it."Here is what happened, after I bought the Cold Rush, we tested it and it worked. It stopped working, however, on the day of my wife's surgery. When I called I asked for someone with some technical knowledge of the Cold Rush to try to walk me through troubleshooting. Her reply was send it back to the Dr. I explained that my wife was in pain, that I bought it explicitly for that purpose. She continued to respond that there was nothing she could do and I should just return it. She couldn't care less. When I asked if there was someone who had technical knowledge to help she said the machine either worked or it didn't' and to return it.That is a load of you know what. After working on it for an hour I realized what everyone at your company should know and explain to purchasers who have problems....it's called Gravity Feed and Priming the Pump. I got it to work finally. Very simple:I turned the pump upside down and poured a bit of water in it, then put it back in the case, and then put the pad lower than the case. Voila...gravity feed and priming the pump worked immediately. At the very least you should have all of your "receptionists", for lack of a better word, familiar with this technique. It may not work for everyone, but it worked for us.You are, after all, a company dealing with customers who are in pain...get some sensitivity training!

Don't wait to get the cool relief your injury demands.
I broke my leg on Fathers' Day, 21 June 2021. In part, my recovery was helped by this product. Getting up, getting crutches under my arms and hobbling to the freezer for new ice every 1/2 hour or so was almost impossible to rest, work or function. With this machine, you can experience cooling contact where you need it for a nice long while, depending on how cold and how much ice you have. The motor is quiet, the contact pad is comfortable and a little comfort goes a long way when you're trying to mend. Get this for yourself or loved one, don't wait a week into your recovery; your frozen peas will be spoiled by then.

Nice and quiet
Couldn't use with frozen bottles of water. The motor doesn't allow them to fit. Make sure your hoses are completely connected. Barely makes any noise at all. Update, now that I have had this item for a while, the best function definitely comes from loose ice and water to the levels indicated inside the container. The tiny frozen water bottles do fit, but you'll want to supplement with more ice. Otherwise things melt pretty quickly. Still happy overall.

Ice, Ice, Baby!
If you've ever had to ice a joint down without one of these machines, you've not experienced one of the best ways to do so. "Icing machines" (which is what I call them) are fantastic, and there is only a little bit of condensation wetness. I've used another brand before (borrowed from a relative), and this one is just as good at icing my knee down, but so much quieter. As soon as I plugged it in, I wasn't sure it was even on, until I felt the cold water flowing through the pad. The first time I used it, I iced for 3 hours straight, and the water was still cold, and there was still ice in the cooler.I will be getting other pads to have just in case I need it for a different joint.

Works well but stops working. Doesn't last!!
The first one stopped working after 2nd use. Returned for a new one. The new one just quit working. No water pumps through. It didnt last a year. Very disappointing.

Attachment didn't last
Used once after surgery and stored for a year. Now that we want to use it the second time, it leaks. I tried a patch but it leaks. Too expensive to only use it one time.
