Zoning 101: A Practical Introduction: Third Edition

Excellent book. Very easy to read. Provides a practical and clear introduction to basic zoning principles. It is a useful documents for inexperience lay person not familiar with the basic components of a zoning ordinance.

I'm reading this book, along with 3 others all on Zoning. Zoning 101, is a must have! I've been in the commercial real estate acquisition and development business for over 16 years, and generally, work on large complicated projects. Ground up Development, single and mixed-use, is my expertise. This book is the batman book. Carl and Marilyn write very well, and have covered a ton of territory that is needed. Zoning is everything in this business. Great real estate is like a sports car with no tires, unless, you can deliver on the zoning.Buy this book. You won't be disappointed.

Very helpful. Explains zoning very clearly. Wish I'd had it when I started in Zoning. A must-read for anyone needing a quick lesson in zoning.

I doubt this book would challenge an average high school freshman. All of the information is available online for free.

An excellent review, primer, guide, call it what you will it does what it says it does.

The information gives a good overview of the fundamentals. But the language is simplistic enough to be annoying. Short sentences. Small words. My 8 year old wouldn’t mind.

This is a great book for those who are interested getting into real estate or a client. It gives one an understanding of zoning and property subdivision; and many other aspects of zoning ordinances and land use codes. A must for proposed buyers to understand land use administration.
