Great to start out
A good starting kit for any couple who wants to get into badminton. Me and my partner found them to be great. Good value with the shuttlecocks as well in my opinion. Perfect entry level set

Pay a bit more it is worth it
I got cheap ones (Carlton as well) and they were garbage. These are far better and worth spending the extra money.

Best avoided! Both rackets rendered unusable by their second outing!
Do you remember those net bags containing badminton rackets etc that you used to buy at the beach? These are comparable! They are strung extremely loosely and whilst that might provide a total beginner with an ‘easy to play’ experience they offer little power or control. Within 5 minutes I’d broken the strings on my racket as a result of simply playing the game!Carlton as a brand is great. My eldest (who’s been playing longer than the rest of us) has a much more expensive Carlton racket that is excellent. The full sleeves that come with these rackets are great quality (I’ve used the sleeve from my broken racket to house my new, better quality, racket) and the shuttlecocks are also ok although start to split after about 90 minutes of use.Maybe these rackets would work for kids playing infrequently but for me (an adult of 44) they just aren’t suitable.I’d restring the broken racket but it’d cost £19 so it’s consigned to the understairs cupboard for evermore! Shame.Update: played with my kids again last night. Second time that my daughter has used her racket and the grip came apart! Oh dear. Going to have to drop another star!I’d say avoid. Not up to the job even for beginners!
